Let’s Get Competitive

After a very rainy start to the year, and amid the ongoing challenges of the COVID-19 situation, it's time to play some competitive tennis.
FLYING THE SWISS CLUB FLAG ISLAND-WIDE
Right now, Swiss Club teams are doing battle on courts all over Singapore. Remember to show your support by cheering them on when they are playing at home – while respecting social distancing measures, of course.
Around 10 teams are engaged in different leagues. Women’s, men’s and junior teams accommodate players of all genders and ages. It confirms the popularity of tennis at the Swiss Club and attests to the dedication of our players.

HOT TIP FOR WARMING UP
Our new and already popular coach Ashgarvin shares this handy tip for your tennis warm-up. It helps players to slow down their swing and get a better 'feel' for the ball.
To begin, both players should stand either side of the net, facing each other and 3 feet behind the service line. Then using a top spin on both forehands, try to keep the ball ‘live’ for as long as possible (backhand players will simply rally back and forth). To improve consistency, try to hit the ball at waist height and land the shots halfway between the net and your partner. Before retreating to the baseline, players can progress with the same activity using 3/4 depth, and aim to get the ball to land on the service line. After this, you're all set to play from the baseline.
