about Summit
CAFO SUMMIT is a global hub of connection, learning and action – convening more than 2,000 Christian leaders, advocates, pastors, and parents from every U.S. state and more than 50+ countries each year – to see the Church as the answer for vulnerable children and families.
This year’s event, CAFO2023, will be held Sept. 20-22 at Crossings Community Church in Oklahoma City. In addition to workshops, plenary sessions and worship … CAFO2023 features more than 50 booths and exhibits, a bookstore, a marketplace for global arts and crafts and a host of other connection and learning opportunitiesincluding CEU credits via NASW.
This year’s Summit will also feature a series of Pre-Summit Intensives including the OVC Research Symposium, Global Collaborate, sessions on trauma-informed care, effective fundraising, church engagement, parenting, soul care and more!

The Christian Alliance for Orphans (CAFO) unites more than 225 respected organizations and a global network of churches to inspire and equip Christians to effectively answer God’s call to care for vulnerable children and families. Since 2004, CAFO members have sought to “leave their logos and egos at the door” to join in shared initiatives to grow and guide effective responses for the world’s most vulnerable children, from foster care and adoption to family strengthening and care for vulnerable children worldwide. CAFO is a 501c3 non-profit organization headquartered in McLean, Va.

The fruit of our labor often feels so small and incomplete, even as fresh needs rise before us every day. A deep sense of urgency can dominate us daily. Jesus faced all that we face and more, yet he never ever seemed hurried. He lived always with the long view – a horizon not of days or even years, but decades… and, ultimately, eternity. He was less concerned about immediate results than the slow growth of God’s kingdom … less focused on sweeping change than the transformation of a single heart … less interested in what people accomplished than what they were becoming. Join us as we learn together – amidst a world of urgent needs and instant results – how to live, love, and serve with eyes that keep the long view always before us.
