INTRODUCTION The click of a shutter. The sweeping stroke of a brush. The meticulous structure of a design. What do photography, painting, and design have in common? At first glance there may not seem to be many similarities. However, they’re all mediums of art that showcase the creativity and passion of artists. Trades houses a collection of works of different media by five talented undergraduate students from the Roski School of Art and Design at the University of Southern California. Each artist in this book has a distinct style that demonstrates the underlying passion they have for their work. These paintings, photographs, and designs reflect the aesthetics of the next generation of artists. The fact that we are all still students only means we will go on to do even bigger and better works in the future. I hope you will continue to follow our journeys as we grow as artists!
