This mood board was created in the preliminary research stage while learning about Istanbul, Turkey, and what could represent Istanbul. Istanbulpeaceful was found to be a place of architectural feats, famous for their mosaics and patterns, so many patterns are in the mood board. Since the flag of Turkey is red, I also put compositions of pictures with an aesthetically pleasing red in the color palette.

-considered the epitome of Byzantine architecture -remained world's largest cathedral for nearly 1000 years after, from when it was built in 537 until 1520 -ancient basilica built for Roman Emperor Justinian I and later improved by Emperor Constantine -interior decorated with mosaics and marble pillars

Tertiary typeface - Minion Pro The type in the logo uses a modified Uncial Antiqua. The capital L in Istanbul is shortened to fit the average cap height. The numbers 2020 are also lengthened vertically to match the average cap height.

Logo: Stationery Application
These are examples of the applications of the logo onto stationery. Only use the uncial typeface for the title treatment in the logo. For headline text, use the secondary typeface. For the body text, or if the text is very small, such as on the business card, use the tertiary typeface for ledgibility.

Logo: Merchandise Applications
These are examples of applications of the logo onto merchandise, such as t-shirts and baseball caps. It is possible to add the signature Olympic rings on these applications. The rings are not to overpower the main Istanbul logo, so keep scale in mind while designing.
