Global Internship Program


Introduction About AIESEC AIESEC is the global youth network impacting the world through leadership development experiences. AIESEC has been facilitating youth leadership activities as well as international internships & volunteer experiences for over 65 years, developing a global learning environment across 124 countries & territories. In Australia For 50 years we have been helping Australian businesses grow by providing them with the talent they need. In the past 10 years alone, AIESEC has assisted over 200 Australian companies grow, expand internationally and deliver projects by providing 400 top recent graduates and undergraduates from 113 countries to fill 8 week to 12 month contract work placements. These placements have ranged from helping Wesley Mission fill a short term position by providing a high quality human resource officer, to conducting database analysis for Google Australia during the December and January. We believe that by facilitating and participating in our Global Talent Sourcing Program, we are able to develop globally minded, adaptable and purpose driven young leaders, and hence strive for our vision: Peace & Fulfillment of Humankind’s Potential. Global Internship Program AIESEC engages with thousands of companies and organizations to support their highly competitive international talent acquisition and consistent global employer branding. AIESEC offers flexible and customized programmes to provide talent that fits with your company’s culture and processes. Access international students and take them on as interns to support your organizational needs and initiatives. • • • • •

Interns work full time anywhere from 2-18 months Interns demonstrate a range of skills and impact by handling specific short term projects or working in a team on long term strategies. Solution for restrictive head count, building an international management pipeline, and gaining insight on projects or strategies. Candidates are current students and recent graduates of top bachelors, masters and MBA programmes in 2,400 universities globally. Attract candidates from 126 countries via an efficient, centralized sourcing process.

At the core, AIESEC Global Internship Program (GIP) is very well aligned with this purpose through providing student with internship experience in a professional company environment to develop his or her ability to implement knowledge, interact with colleagues and authorities and further leadership potential.

Local Support of AIESEC based in Universities

AIESEC offices are present in 6 capital cities in Australia. Our Business Development team in each local office actively manage ongoing relationships with their local partners and strive to create more partnerships everyday. SwB students can gain access to these companies by joining our GIP experiences. AIESEC is proposing to create a SwB + GIP combined program, where local offices of AIESEC will provide the internships we signed with companies to SwB students. Through this combined program, a SwB students can enhance their ability both academically and professionally.

AIESEC ensures both the intern and also the partnered companies are getting values out of the GIP experience. We track on the quality of our service, retrieve feedbacks from the interns and the companies through sit-in meetings and surveys. We measure quality through Net Performance Score.

AIESEC is 100% run by students and recent graduates, many of our members are students studying at universities where the SwB students are present. Through out intern servicing process, we ensure every program participant can have a strong leadership development experience. In fact, there are already SwB students had joined the Team Member Program of AIESEC, providing them leadership development opportunities and students network in Australia.


Process We are proposing the following process for SwB students already studying in Australia with the following process.

AIESEC Business Development team look for engineering and science related internship placements in Australia.

AIESEC provides internship requirements to the SwB students through the Brazilian Embassy. SwB students apply for these internships according to the requirements. AIESEC conduct initial screening and liaising with the companies to organize interviews.

AIESEC conduct ongoing intern and company servicing activities including quality assurance and feedback collection.

Shortlisted SwB students sit through interviews with the company.

Successful applicants start their internships.


Scale AIESEC would like to provide 30 students with GIP experiences during June - July winter holiday period and 60 students with GIP experience during December - February summer holiday period.

Cost AIESEC is proposing to charge 750 Australian Dollars per internship provided to SwB student. This cost will be dedicated for organizational operational costs. • 200 AUD - Business Development expenditure - cost for conducting business development activities such as attending business networking, transportation for going to meetings, contract printings • 300 AUD - Partner Servicing - cost for servicing the partner companies such as engagement events, appreciation events, service quality control, conducting feedback • 250 AUD- Intern servicing - cost for servicing the GIP interns, in this case the SwB students, for engagement with local AIESEC team, welcoming events, integration events, running intern preparation seminars
