El Mejor Día
El Camino del Amor para Niños y Ninas Roger Hutchison Translated by Yoimel González Hernández An introduction to the Way of Love for children and their families. El Mejor Día: El Camino del Amor para Niños y Niñas introduces the practices for a Jesus-centered life for children ages 3–10 and their families in Spanish. Through accessible language and age-appropriate themes, it specifically addresses children and the importance of rhythm and practice in their lives as Christians, accompanied by Roger Hutchison’s familiar and vibrant artwork. Through a cadence of words and colorful images, children will see how to Turn, Learn, Pray, Worship, Bless, Go, and Rest in daily life as a follower of Jesus. Acquiring such wisdom at an early age will benefit children (and the adults who love them) to learn these practices for a lifetime. ROGER HUTCHISON is the Director of Christian Formation and Parish Life at Palmer Memorial Episcopal Church in Houston. An artist who paints with children in a variety of contexts, he is the author of several books including Jesus: God Among Us and The Painting Table. Roger serves on the Forma Board of Directors and is a member of the National Association of Grieving Children. He lives with his family outside of Houston, Texas.
Journey to Adulthood
Coming Summer 2021 Journey to Adulthood is an online, downloadable youth ministry program of spiritual formation for 6th–12th grades. Fully revised and updated, it is centered on inclusive, relational ministry and uses Bible study, prayer, rites of passage, outreach ministries, and both serious and playful activities. Creative, developmentally appropriate lessons are arranged within three categories of Self, Society, and Spirituality. There are three two-year segments included in the program. Rite-13: (Grades 6–7 or 7–8) The Rite-13 program assists young people as they begin to take the first steps of independence from their families into their own lives and creates a safe haven in which to explore new ideas, new interests, and new abilities. J2A: (Grades 8–9 or 9–10) Helps teens create and understand the importance of Christian community as they develop critical thinking and other skills they will need in adulthood. 4Ward: (Grades 10–11 or 11–12) This mentor-based program helps older teens discern and carry out a ministry within their church or in the larger community. A final rite of passage sends them out into the world as ambassadors of Christ. Learn more at www.churchpublishing.org/journeytoadulthood.
