her private dwelling and the second for her sister's. The design of the building is strictly related to the local climatic conditions (warm and windy most of the year, very hot in summer), all the windows are linked to the internal small courtyard so that a natural air circolation, across the dwellings, pushes all the warm air out the top of the courtyard. A better termal insulation is provided by a roof garden and brise solail in some windows.

Client requested a three level residential building on his lot, sited on the west border of Portopalo di Capo Passero; she needed a basement level for

The client requested a small innovative wodden house in his agricoltural land full of lemon trees. The building is a rectangular prism with two openings at the ends and an interior courtyard between the private and the pubblic area. Four steel frames are wrapped by 24x24cm lamellar wood beams and, in order to respond to air, thermal and light requirements, interruptions create flurry openings. The courtyard work as a natural cooling system in summer time and as a greenhouse during the winter.

cal performance that could be built quickly. We decided to build a total wooden house, with a terrace and a wind tower for passive cooling and a central wood heater for the winter. All the walls and the terrace roof have a total insulation provided by mineral wool and styrofoam panels.
