PUBLISHER´S MESSAGE Martial arts since its origins have a dual purpose. They taught the art of war and simultaneously taught a strict code of ethics. This code of ethics in many schools had to be followed with discipline. The not respect it could end up being expelled from school, or clan. The code of ethics varies by school, country or teacher. But in all there is a point of agreement: Respect. As my main style has a great influence of Japanese martial arts, explain the term Sonkei. 尊 SON (romaji) translates to respect, revere, honor. 敬 KEI (romaji) symbolize respect, honor, reverence, respectfully. this kanji, 敬 Kei is formed in turn by two characters: Kyoku ; Jì, and Utsu; Suì. 尊敬 sonkei, makes an even greater emphasis, if possible, in meaning of respect. Today there are fewer schools that transmit education, they teach respect. Marketing of martial arts, has mutilated a large percentage of the original teaching. Teachers try martial arts as a product to sell and students as customers with a desk through is impossible for a student relationship (kohai) teacher (sensei) is established, the student feels right that the teacher have to gave them what they pay and the teacher only teach what students pay. We have begun to accept negative things in the world of martial arts, to the point that today we see them as normal. When I was little my grandmother always took me to train martial arts, saw many sparring and always told me: You must be a gentleman always, at all times, even with the enemy, NEVER BLOWS TO SOMEONE ON THE FLOOR, OR fOR tHE bACK, he is a gentleman expects this again standing face to face. Today however with televised violence, carried even video games mixed martial arts we can see how our young people are tought to hit the head of a fallen man as one of the best ways to win a match. Teachers smoking inside the dojo, walking shoes above the tatami, traditional uniforms are not used, the belts are sold on each test, all are approved for parent and student happy return to their homes and continue to pay their monthly installments. We must return to the old school who held
her hand to her students and taught them self-control, self-improvement, self-respect. When martial arts are taught without the correct code of ethics, they are dangerous to society. A person without respect would be lacking of tolerance . He would go the world regardless of others, using martial skills for their own benefit, fueling violence and creating suffering. Let us fight together to return values ​​to the martial arts. Respect to ancestors and teach by example. Respect is more than good manners, is the balance that leads to peace and understanding.

AIRR PHANTHIP OWNER OF: NAK MUAY THAI LAO IN LAS VEGAS NEVADA (USA) Master Airr Phanthip, Owner of NAK Muay Thai-Lao in Las Vegas, NV, USA, just broke into the Hollywood Action movie scene as Main Prison Guard in Kickboxer: 2 Retaliation. Kickboxer: 2 Retaliation is an upcoming American martial arts film written and directed by Dimitri Logothetis. It is the sequel to the upcoming Kickboxer: Vengeance. The movie is expected to make world debut in mid 2017. Master Airr Phanthip was recommended by his former NAK Muay Thai-Lao student, Patrick Wirtz, Freeland Film Producer to the Anthony Casting Agency. Master Airr was only supposed to be an extra on the movie. However, after speaking with Producer Dimitri Logothetis, Master Airr was able to come in and act as Main Prison Guard, who shares scenes with lead actor, Alain Moussi.

Phanthip has some previous acting experience in Lao-Hollywood film, JKU: John Kincaid Unleashed. He portrayed the role of “Bad Guy” along side his daughter, Saiphapon Phanthip. JKU is expected to release early 2017. “I was honored to be a part of these movies. I never dreamed of doing these kinds of movies and get paid, “ said Master Airr with big smiles. “Especially I was just a little country boy and refugee from small village of Laos during the Vietnam War era.” Just recently, Master Airr qualified for SAG (Screen Actions Guild) membership.

Juscelino Frazao On September 2, the sensei Juscelino Frazao was honored at the Sao Paulo State Legislative Assembly (Brazil) on event conceived by Master Magazine, Faculty FACEI and by the Legislative Assembly. The event aims to honor the best athletes and martial arts masters in Brazil, in a popular award widely as the Academy Awards of Martial Arts in Brazil, which has the purpose that goes far beyond just rewarding to immortalize their honorees with publications biographical on a book series called GREAT MASTERS OF MARTIAL ARTS IN BRAZIL.

As chairman of a big international association of the Martial Arts Association, he was the charitable initiatives “martial artists with a heart” and successfully establish “martial artists without borders” and the martial arts charity Great Seminar the “Martial Arts Day”. However, living Modern Nuns and Modern Monks, it’s not about outwardly appearance, but what is important is in the heart as to being a good human being as best as you can. For example, how many parents are out there working so hard to support their family yet not being recognized and appreciated by our society due to the fact that is just the way of life. But being a good parents are not easy, they have to sacrifice so much for the sake of their family. This concept of Modern Nuns and Modern Monks is entailed what the art of Wing Chun is all about. WING CHUN TEMPLE was established by giving honor back to Shaolin Temple due to the fact that Abbess Ng Mui came from Shaolin Temple. She was the creator of Wing Chun Kung Fu, which is one of the greatest Kung Fu system of all. Wing Chun Kung Fu system is a spiritual martial arts that is also based on scientific methodology. The emphasis is on the Concepts and Principles rather than techniques. And instead of using force, it uses flow, directness, deflection, timing, sensitivity, etc. This art form is characterized as graceful because of the flow and fluidity of the movements yet with very explosive power when needed. As Modern Nuns and Monks, we do not have to shave our heads and put on a rope. The philosophical and spiritual aspect of Buddhism are in our hearts, which is what matter most in our modern day. For instance, Shaolin Temple is like the Old Testament in the Bible, and OCTOBER/2016

THE SYMBOLIC OF THE GATE:
The symbol of the gate, which is a symbolic of the original of Shaolin Temple’s entrance gate. This gate is sacred or symbolized as entering to something spiritual seeking and enlightenment. When one is entering the gate, it means that she/he has to transform her/his being as a new person with good qualities to do good for humanity and society. The gate also acted as the crossing over to the newness of life.

About Sifu Clark Tang’s WING CHUN TEMPLE was founded by Sifu Clark Tang, who started his interest in Martial Arts since he was 6 years of age. Sifu Clark Tang used to study other martial arts like Kickboxing, American Kenpo Karate, Lama Kenpo Karate, Tai Kwon Do, Tai Chi and other styles of Kung Fu; however Wing Chun was always Sifu Clark Tang’s passion but there was none to be founded around his area. Until Spring 1993, Sifu Clark Tang founded a Wing Chun School in Fountain Valley and until now, Sifu Clark Tang has never stopped loving it and made it to be a life long journey.
I’ve been doing Martial Arts most of my life, and I got to the point that it was more internal understanding when I am more mature. So my Sifu told me that I was ready to pass on the art. So I was granted to be a Sifu level. But I am still constantly learning all the time. And then I had to come up with the school name, so
In the Beginning and How it was started Master Ti Lung: I started my interest in Martial Arts since I was about 5-6 years of age after I accidentally got into the theatre by myself and saw Master Ti Lung’s film. From that point, my life was never be the same, and my quest for an understanding of Martial Arts was an everlasting. My childhood dream was to go and live in Shaolin Temple and study Gung Fu and literature.
Master Bruce Lee(Lee Siou Long) I was inspired by Master Ti Lung and later by Master Bruce Lee, so Wing Chun Gung Fu was always my goal. But there was not any Wing Chun Gung Fu school around where I lived. So I started to study American Kenpo Karate and Kickboxing with Sensei Paul Hock’s school, which very closed to my house. And later I met Sensei Thomas Martin, and I asked a permission from Sensei Paul Hock to study under Sensei Thomas Martin. And of course, Sensei Paul Hock granted my wish because Sensei Thomas Martin was also an Instructor at his school too. Afterward, my journey was not ended; I continue to take Tai Kwon Do, Tai Chi and other martial arts styles. But my heart was always for Wing Chun Gung Fu. So one day, I accidentally found out from my Gung Fu brother that he found a Wing Chun School in OC County, and I told him that I was interested to check out and enroll it. Because Wing Chun schools were not many and my dream finally came true. So I signed up and studied Wing Chun Gung Fu since then until now. 42
I was thinking that when I was a child I always wanted to go to Shaolin Temple to study martial arts and literature. And then a vision came to my mind, Temple and later Wing Chun. So I came up with Wing Chun Temple, and my Sifu was impressed. As of now, besides working full time, I also lead 3 times a week of Wing Chun classes. Being a Wing Chun Gung Fu teacher(Sifu) is a blessing to me because I am constantly learning from my students. They are my greatest joy. Teachings of the Budha The Traders of Seriva Serivavanija Jataka (Jataka No. 3)
S
o that a disheartened bhikkhu would have no regrets in the future, the Buddha told him this story at Savatthi to encourage him to persevere. “If you give up your practice in this sublime teaching which leads to Nibbana,” the Buddha told him, “you will suffer long, like the trader of Seriva who lost a golden bowl worth a hundred thousand pieces.” When asked to explain, the Buddha told this story of the distant past. Five long aeons ago, the Bodhisatta was an honest trader selling fancy goods in the kingdom of Seriva. Sometimes he travelled with another trader from the same kingdom, a greedy fellow, who handled the same wares. One day the two of them crossed the Telavaha river to do business in the bustling city of Andhapura. As usual, to avoid competing with each other, they divided the city between them and began selling their goods from door to door. In that city there was a ramshackle mansion. Years before the family had been rich merchants, but by the time of this story their fortunes had dwindled to nothing, and all the men of the family had died. The sole survivors were a girl and her grandmother, and these two earned their living by working for hire. That afternoon, while the greedy peddler was on his rounds, he came to the door of that very house, 44
crying, “Beads for sale! Beads for sale!” When the young girl heard his cry, she begged, “Please buy me a trinket, Grandmother.” “We’re very poor, dear. There’s not a cent in the house and I can’t think of anything to offer in exchange.” The girl suddenly remembered an old bowl. “Look!” she cried. “Here’s an old bowl. It’s of no use to us. Let’s try to trade it for something nice.” What the little girl showed her grandmother was an old bowl which had been used by the great merchant, the late head of the family. He had always eaten his curries served from this beautiful, expensive bowl. After his death it had been thrown among the pots and pans and forgotten. Since it hadn’t been used for a very long time, it was completely covered with grime. The two women had no idea it was gold. The old woman asked the trader to come in and sit down. She showed him the bowl and said, “Sir, my granddaughter would like a trinket. Would you be so kind as to take this bowl and give her something or other in exchange?” The peddler took the bowl in his hand and turned it over. Suspecting its value, he scratched the back of it with a needle. After just one covert

When the peddler heard this, an intense pain swept over him. “He robbed me! He robbed me!” he cried. “He got my golden bowl worth a hundred thousand!” He became hysterical and lost all control. Throwing down his money and merchandise, he tore off his shirt, grabbed the beam of his scales for a club, and ran to the riverside to catch the other trader.
The frustrated trader could only stand there on the river-bank and watch his rival escape with the bowl. The sight so infuriated him that a fierce hate swelled up inside him. His heart grew hot, and blood gushed from his mouth. Finally, his heart cracked like the mud at the bottom of a pond dried up by the sun. So intense was the unreasoning hatred which he developed against the other trader because of the golden bowl, that he perished then and there.
By the time he got to the river, the boat was already in midstream. He shouted for the boat to return 46
The honest trader returned to Seriva, where he lived a full life spent in charity and other good works, and passed away to fare according to his deserts. When the Buddha finished this story, he identified himself as the honest trader, and Devadatta as the greedy trader. HOW YOU GOT STARTED IN THE MARTIAL ARTS? I started martial arts training in 1985 at the age of 5 years in Shotokan with the teacher Cesar Figueroa who was a student of Sensei Shohiro Koyama our school was very traditional there were only 4 tapes and trainings were very rough, use Makiwara was common, and the competition was very important to us, from small start to compete strong but not only in tournaments Karate Do but open events, the sensei said you had to measure yourselves against all, competed commonly in the USA by the proximity of our city Hermosillo Sonora Mexico with the US border. My training was in the art until 1990 when the sensei for personal reasons stopped teaching and my father passed away and was until 1993 I resume my training in the Korean system under the master Aldo Navarro, during 1993-1998 he learned in the academy and was where I trained as a black belt, I was always competitive, minimum 2 tournaments per month and sometimes up to 3 tournaments on the same weekend, my first International was the long Beach 1994 and was blown away by everything I saw there, movie stars , the recent champion of the UFC Roice Gracie and competitors that would leave a mark on me as Butch Togisala, Leo Creer, Ray Wizard and many more.
In 1998 I opened my own academy affiliated with the organization of Maestro Aldo Navarro. In addition to my formal training Koreano System in 1994 began studying American Kenpo, remains engaged with the system since I saw the Grand Master Gilbert Velez on a show and from then on never stop. Also in 1996 began to study Small Circle Jiu Jitsu, Arnis and Kick Boxing with Bill Dixon an American who lived in my town, That was where I started to see the martial art in a more critical way and I found the taste to full contact. I won events in several countries and different leagues in Long Beach win several awards from 1996 to 1999 in 2002 was my year unbeaten since winning the grand champion in fight in Madrid Spain and in different tournaments where I went, win the team championship IKC with Anthony Cogliando, Sita Van and Jeff Nelson in Dublin 2004, Utrecht 2006, San Carlos 2007, with Yoskar Gamez and Johan OmaĂąa in England in 2008, Las Vegas 2009, Boston 2013, the great champion in forms in Long Beach 2012 and the Alba Games in Venezuela in 2007, I had the opportunity to compete and give seminars in many cities also belong to the Hall of Fame Pittsburgh martial arts in 2006. My training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu began in 2004 when we started to promote MMA fights so in 2014 we promoted the only law that exists in Mexico for the promotion and regulation of MMA that gives protection to professional fighters.
