CPD CPD is a compulsory requirement for all CIMA members, as well as for members of other professional accountancy bodies.
Unlike other schemes, CIMA doesn’t prescribe specific activities or number of units or hours. Instead CIMA operates an output-based scheme that gives you the freedom to decide how you are going to develop, so that you can focus on activities that are directly relevant to your role and to your individual development needs. As business becomes increasingly complex, this approach allows CIMA members to remain up-to-date and relevant. CIMA Mastercourses can form an effective part of this scheme. For more information on CIMA’s professional development scheme please visit: www.cimaglobal.com/cpd CPD hours are included in this brochure for members of those professional bodies where CPD hours are required.
CIMA corporate services If a more flexible and cost-effective approach to meeting your organisation’s learning and development needs is required you can choose CIMA corporate services. Select from in-house training, our Corporate Discount Scheme, CIMA on demand – our online CPD solution, or combine all three. See page four for more information.

CGMA Competency Framework The CGMA Competency Framework is designed to help management accountants and their employers understand the knowledge requirements and assess the skills needed for both current and desired roles. The framework is underpinned by the need for objectivity, integrity, and ethical behaviour and includes a commitment to continuously acquire new skills and knowledge. The framework has been developed with a global perspective; it underpins the CIMA Professional Qualification, and includes emerging areas and developments in the changing role of the finance function. By adopting the framework, management accountants will be equipped to drive sustainable business success and be more valuable to employers in the market. The framework is comprised of four knowledge areas: • Technical skills • People skills • Leadership skills Management accountants are expected to apply technical accounting and finance skills in the context of the business to influence the decisions, actions and behaviours of others and lead the organisation at different levels.
CGMA COMPETENCY FRAMEWORK ®
Leadership Skills
Apply accounting and finance skills
In the context of the business
And lead within the organisation
To influence people
Ethics, integrity and professionalism
2
• Foundational • Intermediate • Advanced • Expert Depending on where you are in your career and/or where you aspire to be in the future, the framework provides a structure of the knowledge requirements and helps you identify and assess the skills you need at various points in your career. Using the framework will help you grow and mature in your career. It defines the skills that employers are looking for in the market place. It will allow you to be relevant and gather the knowledge needed to drive sustainable business success and be more valuable to employers.
• Business skills
TECHNICAL SKILLS
Each knowledge area then includes a series of competencies that are relevant to each area, for example, finance accounting and reporting is a pillar under technical skills. Each competency can be performed at four proficiency levels:
Business Skills
People Skills
To help you use the framework all relevant Mastercourses have been categorised by knowledge area and then by competency with a proficiency level included for each course. For more information on the CGMA Competency Framework visit: www.cgma.org/competency-framework

Multiple bookings
Course papers
Save up to 30% when you book five or more CIMA run events by joining the CIMA Corporate Discount Scheme. See page five for details.
These will be provided on the day of the course. They are intended to supplement presentations rather than to be self-sufficient. For this reason and because problems of copyright occasionally arise, arrangements are not usually made to produce more sets than are required at the time of the course.
Late availability discounts Half price places are available on selected courses, excluding those endorsed by CIMA and run by another organisation, in the two weeks before they are held. The half price rate is available to: • CIMA registered students • CIMA Training Partners and Quality Training Partners • CIMA Development Quality Partners • CIMA Premier Partners • CIMAplus subscribers
Course quality When you attend a CIMA Mastercourse you will be given an assessment form on which to make your comments. The attention we pay to your assessment forms ensures the continuing quality and relevance of our course programmes.
