This newsletter is just another way to reach out to you, provide local insight and news along with CIMA's world view, and help you and your businesses succeed. CIMA's journey in India has been both exciting and challenging. With your support and the work of our dedicated staff team, we have passed many milestones. At the end of 2011, we have over 3300 students and members in India. Every day, our 375 CIMA members are proving the value of the CIMA skills in their businesses. Our partnerships with leading Indian educational institutions, professional bodies, such as the ICWAI, and key
corporations, have helped to enhance the recognition of CIMA in India. Globally, 2012 marks a significant new phase for CIMA as we launch our joint venture with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the CGMA designation. The designation, which may be used by all CIMA members, will be the first accounting designation recognised across the world. CIMA Pulse will keep you updated about the progress which CIMA and our community of students and members make. It will keep you abreast of the various trends across the business sector and link the CIMA community in India. We value your feedback and input - this will help CIMA Pulse keep pace with your expectations. We look forward your participation. Andrew Harding Managing Director CIMA

CIMA's Continued Development Scheme fits perfectly with the ideology of the Indian corporate workplace scenario and allows individuals to attain their personal professional development needs and help the organisation flourish.
As Mr Bhat explains, “The world is changing more dramatically than what is apparent. The key is to adapt and be at pace with these changes. When increasingly financial systems are becoming standardised and integrated, it is imperative for the students of finance and accounts to empower themselves with skill sets that are also global in nature. “ It is equally important to realise that employability and that too high grade employability, is a factor of relevance of knowledge. Special thanks
CIMA Pulse has taken off because of the consistent feedback from our students and members and the contribution of some key people. One person we would like to specially thank is Mr Mark Bevan, FCMA. Mark is the Associate Vice President, Finance at JCB India. JCB is the largest construction equipments manufacturer in India. Mark has been with JCB for over 7 years and has recently joined JCB India. Mark has been an ardent supporter, mentor and critic of CIMA and our work in India. He has been a judge and mentor to students at the CIMA Global Business Challenge, a CIMA brand ambassador, a speaker at various events and an advocate of CIMA within his organisation. He has, for over a year, patiently followed up to ensure that this E-newsletter sees the light of day. Mark is also the Guest Editor of this first edition. His feedback and comments have been invaluable to us in shaping CIMA Pulse. On behalf of the CIMA India Liaison Office - a big Thank You to Mark for all his support, time and effort.
