HONG KONG PAST EVENTS CIMA 2011 Global Business Challenge The CIMA Global Business Challenge competition began in February 2011 and it has attracted participations from more than 140 teams from all universities in Hong Kong. The Hong Kong final will be held on 11 June 2011 at PolyU SPEED Hung Hom Bay Campus. The winning team of the Hong Kong final will join the global final in Chengdu and compete against winning teams from 16 other regions.

HONG KONG PAST EVENTS Joint seminar on ‘KPIs that matter – How to choose the best’ – 11 March 2011 Supported by CPA Australia and HKU SPACE the captioned seminar was successfully held on 11 March 2011 with over 140 participants. Apart from a cocktail reception served solely for CIMA members and students prior to the talk, we were very pleased to have Mr Francis Rowlands, FCMA, CIMA council member flying all the way from UK to serve as speaker of the night. During the seminar Francis illustrated a wide range of KPIs and differences between those in terms of measuring and monitoring performances. We sincerely hope the talk provided some insights for audience to select the ones useful for their companies.
Networking CPD seminar on ‘Tomorrow’s Balance Sheet - sustainability and reporting’ – 17 March 2011 Just one week after the KPI seminar, the division organised another evening CPD event for members and students at Mariner’s Club, this time with Dr. Robert Jelly, Executive Director of CIMA, speaking for the event. During the seminar Robert summarised the key discussion points from a high level roundtable discussion organised by CIMA and Tomorrow’s Company, where senior business decision makers met with experts in sustainability. It was a wonderful night with full-house participation.
CIMA research dinner – 18 March 2011 With Dr Robert Jelly’s visit to Hong Kong the division was also able to host a research dinner for near 20 academics from local universities and institutions. The event was held in Langham Place Hotel, Mong Kok where Robert introduced the CIMA research strategy and funding, to attract more research with an Asian focus.
