The first Frizzenti Fizz! Bar has opened in Birmingham

rizzenti, pioneers of wine on tap in the UK, have unveiled their first branded all wine-on-tap bar, the Frizzenti Fizz! Bar, in the newly opened multimillion-pound retail complex, Grand Central in Birmingham. As well as Italian sparkling wines, Frizzenti’s new range of still reds, whites and rosés from around Europe are available. All wine at the Fizz! Bar is served on tap: the kegs are pressurised using an inert gas so oxygen cannot mix with the wine, guaranteeing that the last glass is as fresh as the first. This reduces, if not eliminates, waste and the costs of recycling bottles, together with the growing problem of landfill where a surprising number end up. Each 20-litre keg contains the equivalent of 26 bottles of wine, massively reducing storage issues and the need for chiller space. Stocktaking is speeded up, as is
speed of service with no need to uncork and stop up bottles of wine, making it a faster and slicker experience for both staff and consumer. George Workman, Frizzenti’s managing director, says: “We supply over 300 UK outlets so our stature in the trade is growing and we felt it was time to step up a gear by opening our first branded bar. We trust Birmingham’s Fizz! Bar will be the first of many allowing us to showcase the advantages of serving wine from a keg – the consistently high quality, the speed of service and the environmental benefits, not to mention cost savings.” In addition to their wine range, Frizzenti sell cocktails and draught Peroni at the Fizz!
