Summit Groomer Training Group is the UK’s largest City & Guilds approved centre with 28 Satellites already established with us, and more currently going through the audit process.

Summit Groomer Training Group Ltd works with groomer training schools to provide a link with City & Guilds and ensure the smooth running of the qualification process. From the registration of candidates, Summit provides the support, advice and communication needed to help and guide through to the final exams and certification.

The qualifications supported by Summit are the

City & Guilds:

• 7863-02 Level 2 Dog Grooming Assistant

• 7863-03 Level 3 Dog Grooming

Diploma

• 0146-20 Level 2 Pet Sitting

• 0146-21 Level 2 Dog Walking

Many hours were spent on the existing paperwork developing and producing more straightforward assignments and workbooks, not just for the students, but particularly for the tutors and assessors. This has proved to be a huge success with the training schools that are working with Summit, as the amount of time required to complete forms has been considerably reduced. As a result, tutors are able to spend more time with our future groomers and focus on sharing knowledge and experience to the full.

To deliver City & Guilds qualifications with Summit, there are certain criteria that are a requirement of both City & Guilds and Summit Groomer Training Group.

Minimum requirements:

• A recognised Level 3 Diploma in Grooming

• Five years grooming experience

• A recognised Level 3 teaching qualification e.g. PTTLS or equivalent

• Already hold, or are working towards, an assessor qualification

It also provides easy to comprehend information for groomers just starting out as well as helpful advice for established groomers who want to improve on knowledge and technique. The book covers everything from health, body language and illnesses through to planning a business, scissor techniques and trimming and styling.
