Grooming Congress launch
The College of Animal Welfare is set to launch its very first Dog Grooming Congress this Summer. Sponsored by Mutneys Professional Pet Care and running at the College’s centre in Huntingdon on Sunday 25 June 2023, the college’s first event of this kind boasts a fantastic programme of live demonstrations from award-winning dog groomers.
Programme highlights include a demo on Asian Fusion by Celebrity Dog Stylist Vasileios Barlos, a demo on poodles and doodles by award-winning dog groomers Vic Harwin and Jodie Stevenson, a demo from Crufts winners Allison and Morgan Taite-Shoosmith about their time showing in agility and grooming competitions, and much more!
Dog Grooming Congress will also play host to an industry exhibition, welcoming a range of local and national exhibitors to discuss the services and products they have to offer dog groomers. Exhibitors so far include event sponsors Mutneys Professional Pet Care, alongside representatives from The Scissor Boutique, Bruces Doggy Daycare, WildWash, Clipit Grooming, Tellington TTouch Training, Pet Passion to Profit and many more.
As well as chatting with exhibitors and watching demos, dog groomers can also listen to a series of presentations being held throughout the day. To begin congress, Julie Harris, who was awarded a lifetime achievement for services to the dog grooming industry in 2021, will show attendees how knowledge of a dog’s physiology can improve their dog handling. Tina Constance from Tellington Ttouch Training will discuss Ttouch for dog groomers. Later on, International Reiki Master Teacher Rob Fellows will explain how introducing reiki into a dog grooming salon can help dog groomers and their clients. To close congress, animal business expert Bill Betts and accountant Vicky Clark will be leading a presentation all about the business side of dog grooming.
Claire Gregory, Short Course and
