MAY KEY CLUB BE EVER IN YOUR FAVOR. This year's Hunger Games-themed District Convention took place on March 23rd-March 25th to celebrate the end of a successful service year. Throughout the weekend, tributes of service received recognition for their accomplishments, attended workshops, competed in contests, and elected the 2018-2019 NJ District Executive Board.

DAY 1 (FRIDAY) Key Clubbers across New Jersey arrived at Ocean Place Hotel and were immediately heard from the Keynote Speaker Dr. Mykee Fowlin, a Psychologist, Performer, and Poet. Contests and campaigning were introduced, and executive candidates were nominated to run. After, divisional caucuses went around until late at night. Finally, it was time for the dance.

DAY 2 (SATURDAY) A meet-the-candidates started the morning, where candidates paraded around Atlantic and went through another round of speeches and caucusing. Then, there were three sessions of workshops and an appreciation session. Members then got to enjoy their free time on the beach and boardwalk, as well as, helping out with the blood drive. The talent show and more contests were introduced. Voting delegates also voted for the 2018-2019 NJ District Executive Board. A second recognition session and dance ended the night.

DAY 3 (SUNDAY) To end the wonderful convention, a farewell session marked the end of the 2017-2018 service year. The District Executive Officers were retired and new Officers were installed! Welcome the new District Governor, Frank D’Agostino, District Secretary, Chiara Fune, District Treasurer, Kaitlin Cirillo, Distict Editor, Eric Wang, and District Webmaster, Leo Shao.

10 HUNGER IN NJ The New Jersey District of Key Club International is proud to announce that we have chosen

Hunger in NJ

as our District Project for the 2018-2019 service year.

What is it? The New Jersey Federation of Food Banks and the New Jersey District of Key Club International have teamed up to stimulate awareness for hunger and poverty that is affecting our neighbors right here in New Jersey.Â

Why should I care? You may not know it, but 1 in 8 people in New Jersey struggle with hunger - put that in the perspective of whichever school you attend, a town in which you live, or activities in which you engage. Hunger is a very real problem, but often overlooked, so we are giving Key Clubbers opportunities to engage with their communities to make a difference.

HOW TO HELP Host fundraisers Organize a can food drive Get Key Clubbers to volunteer at food pantries, food banks, and soup kitchens Spread the word about the cause!

Regional Training Conferences At the Region Training Conference, you will meet Key Clubbers from other clubs in your region. There will be informative workshops on various topics that will help you and the other members of your club, as well as, icebreakers that will help you get to know members of other Key Clubs. You will leave the conferences knowing so much more about Key Club and how to be a more effective officer, leader, and member.
