TFS – Canada’s International School is a coeducational, bilingual and IB continuum World School for students from age 2 to Grade 12. Founded in 1962, we were the pioneers of French immersion education in Canada and are now celebrating our 60th anniversary.
Arts education starts with our youngest learners and continues throughout the TFS journey. Our Senior School music program has continued to grow in size and excellence, as evidenced by the accolades and awards our student musicians and their teacherconductors have brought home from performances at Kiwanis, the Ontario Band Association and Musicfest Nationals. A key aspect of our program is mentorship; students are nurtured to become supporters of their classmates as musicians. Beyond graduation, a number of our alumni have gone on to become highly accomplished performers or composers, studying music at the university level and entering their professional lives in the performing arts.
Given TFS’ diverse student population, we perform a wide cultural and eclectic repertoire from all corners of the globe. This year, our choir and wind ensemble were also honoured to perform at the unveiling of the Amicitia monument in Ottawa, celebrating the shared history and deep relationship between France and Canada. Thank you to our exceptional and dedicated music teachers who are at the heart of our music program and ensure that all of our performances are reflective of TFS’ motto: Individuals who reflect, citizens who act.
