INTERNATIONAL
International programmes work to bring people from all around the world together to learn about the values and principles of CISV. Anyone as young as 11 or even older than 100 can participate or volunteer in some manner.
VILLAGE AGE: 11 LENGTH: 28 days 10-12 delegations (2 boys, 2 girls and a leader) from a variety of countries -Participate in educational, cultural and fun activities. -The camp is coordinated by adult staff, supported by Junior Counsellors (age 16-17).
INTERCHANGE AGES: 12-13 or 13-14 *Ages sometimes vary LENGTH: 3 weeks over 2 years or 5 weeks during one summer *Timeline may vary -Encourages a deeper encounter between two cultures -Places young people within families. -Group activities during the exchange, such as a mini-camp, are a vital complement to the in-depth family experience. -2 phases - your child joins a delegation that visits another country and is hosted there by a CISV family. Then in return you and your family host a child from the delegation from the country your child visited.
YOUTH MEETING

STEP UP AGES: 14 or 15 LENGTH: 3 weeks 9 delegations (2 boys, 2 girls and a leader) from a variety of countries to attend. -The programme encourages young people to take a leading role in planning and organizing activities.
AGES: 12-18 LENGTH: 1 or 2 weeks Youth Meetings are for 25-35 participants (aged 12-13, 14-15, 16-18 or 19+), coordinated by adult staff. -Youth Meetings bring small groups of young people, of similar ages together from different countries within a region. -Young people aged under 16 travel in delegations with an adult leader. -Participants help plan activities

SEMINAR CAMP
AGES: 17-18 LENGTH: 3 weeks -Coordinated by the participants themselves. -Develop their own agenda and explore global issues through activities and in-depth discussions. -Seminar Camps are for 30 international participants, with the supervision and assistance of international adult staff.
INTERNATIONAL PEOPLE’S PROJECT AGES: 19+ LENGTH: 2-3 weeks -International People’s Projects (IPPs) are locally run projects that benefit a community and its environment. -In partnership with local organizations, a group of volunteers from at least four different countries work together on a community project. Around 25 volunteers participate in each IPP, including staff.

NATIONAL SUMMER PROGRAMMES NATIONAL CAMP
PEACE BUS
AGES: 11+ Length:   6-7 days
AGES: 15-18 Length: 39 days
-Every summer a chapter in Canada hosts National Camp. -Participants plan the majority of the activities in small groups and are encouraged to take up leadership. -Participants learn how to plan, facilitate and run activities. -It is a great opportunity for anyone of any age wanting to get more involved with CISV!
-Peace Bus is a cross Canada journey in a 15 passenger van. -When on Peace Bus you visit local CISV chapters, volunteer in communities and engage in educational activities. -You can either go from Halifax, Nova Scotia to Victoria, British Columbia (Westbound). -Or from Victoria to Halifax (Eastbound). -There are 12 delegates (15-18 yrs. old), 1 junior leader (19+) and 1 leader. -Peace Bus is a really great experience for anyone who has a positive attitude and wants to develop team building skills.

The Canadian Junior Branch strives to connect youth nation wide and enhance leadership skills while developing global citizenship and enhancing peace education through local activities and events.

LOCAL ACTIVITIES   Cookie-a-Thons - A Cookie-a-Thon is an event planned by the JB in their chapter in which they bake cookies all night. The cookies are then donated somewhere locally. Cookie-a-Thons are fun while also outreaching into the community and helping others.
Minicamps - A minicamp is a three-day camp run by Junior Branch members. It has a variety of activities based on a variety of educational themes. Activities can include: drama, music, sports, games, discussions, team building activities and nature activities. Minicamps are a fun way for youth to experience the full effect of CISV locally.
LOCAL ACTIVITIES CONT.
Partnering with a “Like Minded Organization”Many chapters run activities in partnership with an organization that holds many of the same values as CISV. For example, many chapters partner with multicultural associations within their community to promote diversity!

Educational Content Activities Throughout the year many chapters hold day long activities for local youth to participate in activities that focus on educational themes and discussions.
