Get to know our newest instructors! Nicole Beedle

Youth Science Instructor

After growing up in Danville and graduating from San Ramon Valley High School, Nicole attended UC Berkeley and received her degree in Integrative Biology. She has performed research at both the Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory and USC, where she worked with bacteria that could produce electricity. Nicole is excited to share her love of science with the next generation of Bay Area students by teaching fun, hands-on classes through the Community Center.

Sharon Lacay

Youth Natural Play Instructor

Sharon Lacay is a social worker, mother, educator and artist from Child Light Natural Play and Craft Studio. She weaves together Waldorf Education and the approach of RIE (Resources for Infant Educarers) to provide facilitated playgroups, parenting support and doll making workshops. She believes that healthy beginnings for babies and their families require regular opportunities for free play and creativity.

Valorie Moore

Yoga Instructor for Youth & Adults

Valorie Moore has been teaching Yoga to adults and children for over 10 years while living in New York/New Jersey, Arizona and the Bay Area. Valorie’s classes are always light hearted and fun, while maintaining just the right amount of challenge for both adults and children.

Deb Pellegrino

Youth Cooking Instructor

Deborah Pellegrino has spent almost 30 years as an Executive Pastry Chef in many Bay Area restaurant kitchens including Wente Vineyards, Va De Vi and most recently Postino in Lafayette. Sustainability and locally grown products are very important to Deborah and she believes that every meal she creates should not only taste excellent but provide nourishment for both the mind and body. With degrees in Hotel & Restaurant Management, Culinary Arts & Pastry Arts, Deborah is excited to share her love of cooking with the local youth.

Tompkins Tennis is Northern California’s premier high performance tennis academy offering programs for all levels of juniors and adults.

Maria Tuttle

Adult Nature Painting Instructor

Maria has created a platform to offer outdoor sketching and painting workshops and has extensive experience in curriculum design, program design and leadership, and public communications. She believes that art is an important tool for self-expression and community building, and she wants to make it accessible to everyone.

Wildflower Floral

Adult Wreath Making Instructor

Jennifer Sirkus of Wildpower Floral designs and creates bespoke dried floral decor with locally sourced and naturally dried flowers. Her workshops throughout the Bay Area guide participants through building dried flower wreaths by hand.

Famil y Yoga
