Be Red Cross Ready, and Hands-Only CPR
Instructor: Diana Graham | Learn how to deliver lifesaving CPR care without rescue breaths and be prepared. When you immediately provide Hands-Only CPR, you can increase the chance of survival.
Drawing as an Opening to Painting
Volunteer Instructor: Pushing for Peace (Marilyn Cooper) | Alternating figures and still life as our motifs, we will explore these concepts.
Line Dance, Level 1 (Beginners)
Instructor: Delia Schletter | Step-by-step instruction of easy-to-do dances choreographed to a variety of music.
Line Dance, Level 2 (Improver/Intermediate)
Instructor: Delia Schletter | This class extends the difficulty from Level 1 for those who can handle more challenging choreography, step patterns, syncopated rhythms and turns.
Zumba—Gold
Instructor: Workout Temps, Nannette Vides | Low to medium impact. This is for active, “seasoned” adults who are looking for a modified Zumba class that recreates the original moves.
Adult—Creative Arts | 18 Y & UP
Sogetsu Ikebana: Creative Flower Arrangement
Instructor: Yayoi Sakai | Learn and develop creative self-expression of beauty and harmony through flower arrangements using common and unusual plant materials.
Figure Painting and Drawing
Instructor: Volunteer Leader | Uninstructed artists’ open studio workshop with live models for any skill level.
Introduction to the Zentangle Method
Instructor: Becky Jenab | In this introductory class, students will learn the steps of this meditational art form and create their own Zentangle tiles.
Watercolor I
Instructor: Susan McAllister | Beginning Students will learn how to use basic wet into wet, wet on dry, and wash techniques to paint natural phenomena such as clouds, water, plants and flowers.
Watercolor I/II/III Beg/Intermediate/Advanced
Instructor: Susan McAllister | Using available visual prompts or your own reference materials, you will be encouraged to achieve more detailed control of this creative medium while tackling an increasingly wider range of challenges.

Bridge
Bridge: Diamond Course (Play of the Hand)
Instructor: Carol Griffin | The main objective is to develop a “Plan by Declarer” including the counting of winners or losers, developing tricks, finessing, eliminating losers, managing the trump suit, considering entries and avoiding the “dangerous “ opponent.
Rusty Bridge II
Instructor: Carol Griffin | Review of more basic bidding. Prerequisite: Rusty Bridge 1.
Cooking Classes
Asian Vegetarian Popular Dishes
Instructor: Chat Mingkwan | Learn to use exotic ingredients, seasonings and herbs from Asia and prepare 3 popular Asian vegetarian dishes.
Basic Knife Skills Workshop
Instructor: Chat Mingkwan | We will learn to julienne, baton, brunoise, chiffonade vegetables and break up whole chickens to make a simple dinner.
Simple Skewered Food
Instructor: Chat Mingkwan | Easy cooking techniques of marinating, skewering, and cooking are utilized. We will prepare 3 skewered dishes.
Dance
Continuing Ballet
Instructor: Ginger Megley | Class emphasizes ballet technique, musicality and the joy of movement. Participants should have at least 3 years of previous ballet training.
Social Ballroom Dance
Instructor: Chris Mehling | Chris and her partner, David’s relaxed teaching style makes it easy to learn skills needed to dance well & have a great time in any social situation. Basic focuses on basic steps and fundamental body mechanics. Classes cover Fox Trot, Single Swing, and Mambo.
Dog Training
Puppy Head-Start
Instructor: Dog Dynamics | Your pup will roll and play with other puppies and interact with new people. We cover house breaking, manners, rudimentary obedience, leash training and coming when called.
Beginning Obedience
Instructor: Dog Dynamics | We teach you how to motivate your dog to want to learn the basics of heel, sit, and down.
Intermediate Obedience
Instructor: Dog Dynamics | Class focuses on teaching your dog to stay with distractions, come when called in various situations, and heel in a more formal fashion.
Fitness
The Nia® Technique: Holistic Mind Body Cardio
Instructor: Janet Kaufman | Nia® is a cardiovascular fitness blending moments from dance, martial, and healing arts offering full body conditioning to increase flexibility, stability, agility and strength.
Taijiquan (T’ai Chi Ch’uan)
Instructor: Pushing for Peace, Marilyn Cooper | Qigong means Breath or Energy Work. Taoist Qigong emphasizes relaxation and organ detoxification. Expect to feel peaceful, relaxed and energized after this class.
*This class is for beginners.
Yoga Iyengar
Instructor: Jeanne Dowell | Excellent for those with arthritis, chronic back and neck problems. Class ends with meditation and relaxation.

Chinese Mandarin Conversational
Instructor: Walnut Creek Chinese School | These classes introduce Chinese pronunciation, basic phonic (pin-yin) system, character writing, fundamental vocabulary, and grammar through basic conversations, discussions, and role playing.
Spanish for Beginners (Virtual)
Instructor: Derrick Leonard | Spanish is no longer just a nice thing to know; it’s quickly becoming a practical skill. Spanish is the easiest foreign language for English speakers to learn, with a similar alphabet and many words in common. Previous Spanish knowledge is not necessary.
Martial Arts
Self Defense-Aiki Jujitsu
Instructor: Mehran Mojtahedi | Program teaches practical self-defense (not fighting) through games, friendly competition, and discipline, as well as escaping, grappling, and throwing techniques.
Orinda Shorin-Ryu Karate
Instructor: Jeffrey Violet | Shorin-Ryu Matsubayashi karate training provides an excellent opportunity to improve your self-confidence and mental and physical conditioning.
Advanced Karate do
Instructor: Larry Wadford | This class is for yellow belt and higher students. Sparring and higher-level explanation of kata are taught in the additional 30 minutes of class.
Black Belt Karate do
Instructor: Larry Wadford | High level kata and teaching are taught in these classes.
Music
Ukulele Roots Jam
Instructor: Allan Dodge | Learn chords and strumming by playing and singing along with other players in a supportive environment. A basic knowledge of ukulele chords is recommended.
Pickleball
Pickleball—Beginners
Instructor: Paragon Pickleball | This class is specifically for NEWBIES. Students will go over every shot they’ll need to learn in order to play, including how to score, the different areas of the court, and basic court position.
Pickleball—Advanced Beginners
Instructor: Paragon Pickleball | In this class players will master the primary rules of the game, learn how to hit a forehand and backhand with direction, accurately place serves, and improve proper court positioning.
Pickleball—Intermediate
Instructor: Paragon Pickleball | Students in this class will learn how to hit with more directional intent and consistency on their dinks. 3rd shot drops, volleys, overheads, and serving with more diversity will all be covered as well.
Tennis Beginner Tennis
Instructor: John Fogli | Tennis Levels: Beginner: Designed for those with little or no background playing tennis. Course introduces fundamental strokes (forehand, backhand, serve, and net play); rules, scoring, and court play etiquette. Advanced Beginner: understands grips, ground strokes and can begin to control the serve.
