DMA Irish Dance Academy
DMA Irish Dance Academy feels very strongly that dancers are taught Irish Dancing to the very highest standard, keeping the dance form true to its Irish roots. It is important that the link to Ireland is maintained in everything we do and that the dance continues to be placed in its cultural context. Students will learn the basics of this ever-evolving and beautiful dance form. As this is a solo and team dance form both solo and ‘ceili’ will be covered as part of the course. It is hoped that the dancers will leave with a knowledge of Irish dance and culture, including music, history, and more! Location: Community Center, Room 2 Barcode Dates

A parent/child class. Much of a child’s early learning comes through physical activity. Our Kindergym program offers range-of-movement exploration activities where a child can climb, hang, jump, balance and bounce. In this healthy environment, the parent offers positive, encouraging, and helpful feedback. A skilled staff member is always on hand to assist. The equipment is rearranged each week to provide a new challenge. Parents are required to have infants in packs. Siblings are only allowed in class if registered. Child must be walking. Use make-up book in the Kindergym for missed classes due to illness or cancellation of a class. Prior to participation, a Hold Harmless form and information sheet must be completed. Futsal is an exciting, fast-paced small sided soccer-like game, widely played across the world and growing quickly in the US. The court surface, smaller reduced-bounce ball and rules create an emphasis on improvisation, creativity and technique as well as ball control and passing in small spaces. There are a number of differences with indoor soccer, but the dominant elements are the absence of rebound boards and rules that encourage and foster skillful, creative play over physical contact. It is an excellent complement to outdoor soccer, developing competencies that are equally valuable. Each week participants drop in and staff assign equal teams based on skill level. Self Defense: Aiki Jujitsu James Hadley
Ages 13Y and up
Teen/Adult
Mehran Mojtahedi
These popular multi-media lecture series provide a grand tour of European civilization. The lectures put the great creative accomplishments of the period in a context such that the connections between them and the history of which they are a part of may be understood. The visual arts, music, literature, and history are all here, treated from a thoroughly interdisciplinary point of view. Extensive use is made of slides, literary excerpts, and recordings. Mr. Hadley’s passion for history comes from many years as an instructor at UC Berkeley Extension and conducting tours of most major European museums.
Develop confidence, coordination, and balance and learn how to defeat a larger and stronger attacker by using that person’s own energy and strength against them. Program teaches practical self-defense (not fighting) through games, friendly competition, and discipline, as well as escaping, grappling, and throwing techniques. One of the most versatile and effective methods of unarmed self-defense, Aiki-jujitsu is the basis for many martial arts systems found today.
