“OUR FABULOUS FIVE SENSES”! JUMP START KINDERGARTEN READINESS PROGRAM

This program is ONLY for campers entering Kindergarten or Transitional Kindergarten Fall, 2022. This 4-week, kindergarten preparation curriculum program, lovingly taught by an Orinda kindergarten teacher with over 40 years of experience in Orinda TK and Kindergarten classrooms, has been specially designed to ease incoming Transitional Kindergarten and regular Kindergarten kids into school with a love of learning and a positive jump start on socialization! The morning exactly mimics a regular kindergarten school day. Our Five Senses theme features a fun look at exactly how we see, hear, touch, smell and taste, and also how we use our senses to make sense of our world! Our busy mornings will feature many stories, crafts, music and other senses-related readiness activities in beginning reading, writing, math and science. Students will receive quality instruction in singing, drawing, crafts and woodworking, learn several songs, make directed science drawings in a sketchbook, and build many crafts and wood projects to take home, including a loop viewer, a working banjo, an animation flipper and so many more!

Be aware of your surroundings, avoid trouble. If you get into trouble—get out of it, if you can’t get out of trouble—get out of it anyway! Traditional Okinawan Karate-do, Wado Ki Kai (style) means “to learn from all things.” Kids of all strength and experience levels learn Karate in a kid-friendly way. Kids are taught the importance of respect and self-discipline, challenging their bodies and minds. This is a comprehensive program that deals with “street” awareness, avoiding strangers, and self-defense on a kid’s level. You are welcome to sit in on class for a week to see if it is a good fit.
