HOLLY LYNCH

MEYLIN ANDARES

CITIZEN ADVOCATE

DIRECTOR OF ENROLLMENT MANAGEMENT AND STUDENT SUCCESS SUNY

AWARD ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

HONOREE

A native of New York City and a Harvard graduate, Holly is an award-winning advertising, strategic planning and brand communications veteran. In her 15+ years in communications she has worked with brands and institutions such as: Harvard University, MIT, Volvo, IBM, The Dove Campaign for Real Beauty and Self-Esteem Fund, British Airways, Levi’s, FritoLay, and many more. In addition, she has been a consultant for Procter & Gamble on how to innovate and promote healthier, more sustainable product lines for future generations. Her company, The 85-Percent, has focused specifically on advancing women both as consumers and institutional leaders. After 3 years and 2 rounds battling cancer, Holly is now shifting her years of strategic communications and business leadership in a new direction: public service and policy work. She currently sits on the board of numerous New York based foundations and committees that ensure a more economically viable and environmentally secure future for the poor, minorities, undocumented immigrants and disenfranchised youth.

Meylin Andares was born in Managua, Nicaragua and came to the United States at a young age. Being undocumented as a child motivated her to pursue a career in higher education. She is a proud New Yorker and was raised in Queens, NY. Prior to joining SUNY, she worked as Assistant Director for Undergraduate Admissions at the University at Albany for over ten years. During her time at UAlbany, she focused on recruiting a competitive incoming freshmen class for traditional admissions and the Educational Opportunity Program. Her efforts helped increase the applicant pool of African-Americans, Latinos and other minorities by 45%. New York is one of the few states in the country with a projected increase in the high school population as a result of growth in traditionally underserved populations. Achievement gaps between underrepresented, academically and economically disadvantaged students remain. In June 2016, she was hired at SUNY System as Director of Enrollment Management & Student Success for underrepresented populations.

ALEXIS KRASE

NATHALIE MOLINA NIÑO

OWNER AND CREATIVE DIRECTOR PLUS BKLYN

CEO BRAVA INVESTMENTS

HONOREE

HONOREE

Plus BKLYN is New York City’s premiere plus size boutique and first NYC specialty boutique of its’ kind. We feature bold and trendy downtown styles (and outrageous accessories) for women sizes 14 – 26, with select styles up to 32. The concept for plus BKLYN was born out of owner Alexis Krase’s first-hand experience. For years she had struggled to find accessible clothing options in her size, a 24, which fit well and were uniquely her style. Of the limited options available to plus sizes, she found that most were online only, the fit was often poor or designed to hide her shape and they primarily targeted a more mature audience. Surprised that no boutique or store was meeting this need in New York City, she resolved to open her own.

Nathalie Molina Niño is the CEO and founder of BRAVA Investments, which targets high-growth, scalable businesses that can make a catalytic economic impact on women. She is committed to delivering returns to investors while making a catalytic impact on women in the world. A technologist and coder by training, Nathalie is a consummate entrepreneur, and a storyteller at heart. Molina Niño has advised industry leaders in both the for- and non-profit sector ranging from multinationals (Disney, Microsoft, MTV, The Discovery Channel, Mattel), early stage startups (Cranium, Onvia) and non-profits (Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, World Affairs Council, Seattle International Film Festival, Athena). She writes and is quoted widely in the media, from NY Times best selling books like Tim Ferriss’ 4-Hour Workweek to diverse media outlets ranging from Fox News, MSNBC and Forbes, to Time Magazine, The Washington Post and CNN Money. Nathalie launched her first tech startup at the age of 20 and graduated with honors from Columbia University.
