STILL TIME TO COUNT YOURSELF IN! 2016 FORT SASKATCHEWAN CENSUS Why? Responding to the census online is quick, convenient, cost effective and environmentally friendly What? Residents received a PIN number on bright green paper and were encouraged to start entering their census information on April 4th using the online system. So far 35% of the households have counted themselves in online. When? Residents have until June 1, 2016 to use the PIN number and complete the census online. What if I cannot, or forget, to do it online? On April 25th, enumerators will begin visiting households that did not complete the online census. The enumerators have proper identification and are equipped with a tablet for quick input of the information right at your door. If an enumerator leaves you a callback card, to avoid contacting the enumerator and having them visit you a second time, you can choose to complete the census online. If you have misplaced your PIN letter, don’t worry. You can contact Sheryl Exley, Census Coordinator directly at 780.992.6154 to get your PIN number. For more information on the Municipal Census visit fortsask.ca.

In the spring, City crews collect the sand that is left on our highways, main streets, collector roads and residential streets. Up to 80% of the sand that is used during the winter is collected during spring clean up. The 300 to 500 tons of sand that is contaminated with salt is taken to a City of Edmonton recycling center where it is recycled, to be re used. The remaining dirt and debris is used as fill material.
