The streets in the quaint Village of Clive – nestled in the heart of Lacombe County - came alive over the weekend during Clive Fun Fest. “It was a really good
celebration,” said Clive’s Mayor Anita Gillard Monday. “It was one of the best ever.” And indeed it seemed that way. Crowds lined both sides of the street to watch the parade Saturday, June 20 which was packed full of floats from businesses and groups from as far

The Clive Fun Fest drew large crowds for the parade and the weekend’s activities. On Sat. An amended communications policy was passed by Coronation town council at their regular meeting on June 22. The town of Coronation news letter has been increasing in size as of late due to the amount of information from various community organizations, sports teams and events that are being submitted to the town for the newsletter and not to the local community newspaper. The town’s newsletter, printed with taxpayers dollars, reaches only the boxholders in the Coronation post office. The new policy states that the town newsletter will not contain news but just information, so no names, scores from games, etcetera, will be put into the newsletter and organizations will be encouraged by the town to send them into the Coronation ECA Review. Council set a limit to the size of the newsletter at two pages, double sided and will contain taxpayer information only. With the changes for the newsletter will come significant cost savings for the town. The current newsletter is four sheets, double sided and the publication and distribution cost for the newsletter is approximately $2,500 for 900 copies. The new newsletter with the changes will be one, double sided sheet and will cost $650 for 600 copies. As it is being mailed out with utility bills, no resident who is renting will receive it. Other information, particularly events that will attract people from out of the area into town will be advertising and not appear in the newsletter.
