“At least no one can complain,” was the response from council when no residents came to the public hearing held prior to the regular meeting of Coronation town council on April 27. The public hearing was held for the purpose of considering an amendment to the Town’s Land Use Bylaw 2009-559 that had been brought as information at the last meeting. The new bylaw, 2015-632 was given first reading at the April 13 council meeting. Changes included: the addition of definitions of digital sign, medical marijuana production facility and communication tower, amendments to land use districts including minimum gross floor area requirements for C-1 and C-2 commercial transition districts. It also included amendments to manufactured homes, the deletion of fire pits in general land use regulations, the addition of digital signs, medicinal marijuana production facilities, communication towers and demolition or removal of buildings. Along with the handout that council had prepared for residents, should they have attended the meeting was a map showing changes to land use for the Turn to Property, Pg 7 district.

ECA Review Reporter Kneehill County council has agreed not raise residential taxes this year but will raise non-residential rates by .5 mill to 12.73077 from the current 12.23077, council decided
at the Apr. 26 meeting. “We made it clear that we weren’t going to raise taxes,” stated Coun. Carol Calhoun, in reference to a commitment made to ratepayers over construction costs for the new administration/medical building. Reserve funds have gone up every

year, pointed out Calhoun. The admin/medical building and renewal of county roads will utilize those reserves. “Those reserves were established to do exactly what we are doing this year,” said Reeve Bob Long. The .5 mill increase in
non-residential taxes will bring in an additional $887,715 to county coffers. Input needed on dirt trail Council wants individuals to step up and take on the role of advising council regarding dirt trail maintenance and upgrading. Turn to STARS, Pg 3
