Enjoy a spooky story, dancing and trick-or-treating throughout the library. Caregivers and children are encouraged to attend in costume!

Gamer’s Club – Ages 8 to 12

TWEENS & TEENS

Are you a gamer? Team up with other video game lovers to play fun, age-appropriate games in a safe and positive environment. This group offers the opportunity to discuss gaming strategies and techniques with other like-minded kids. Gaming inspires creative thinking, problem-solving, and helps to improve social skills. Games may include Classic Minecraft and Roblox.

Read Better Be Better – Teen Leaders

STEAM- Ages 8 to 12

This program combines Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math; subjects known to increase critical thinking and problem-solving skills through fun and unique hands-on learning opportunities. Each session will have interactive activities that will challenge your child to think outside of the box.

We are looking for Teen Leaders who would like to help 2nd- 4th grade students become more confident readers. You will be paired up with a Reader and every Monday and Wednesday, for 8 weeks, you will work with your Reader on building up their reading comprehension skills. If you are interested in helping with this program, please stop by the Downtown or Coyote branch and fill out an application.

Book Discussion Group

Looking to share your love of reading with other members of your community? Join us for a lively discussion where you are encouraged to discuss your reading experience and explore new perspectives. Monthly titles are selected by participates of the group and can be found at buckeyeaz.gov/ community/library/calendar

Volunteer at Your Buckeye Public Library & Museum (14+)

Are you looking to earn volunteer hours, learn job skills, build your resume or give back to your Buckeye community? Join us for a Volunteer Information Session to get started. Complete an online application at buckeyeaz.gov/librarycalender and bring it with you to the session of your choice. To volunteer, you must attend the volunteer session.

Bookbinding (18+)

Come and learn the basics of bookbinding, while creating your very own book. You will become familiar with the history of bookbinding, basic bookbinding tools, terms and materials. You will receive step-by-step instructions on creating book covers, signatures, Coptic stitching, paper marbling and more! All materials will be provided. Space is limited to 12 participants. Participants must preregister and plan on attending all 3 days of the workshop. Visit buckeyeaz.gov/librarycalendar to register online.

Open Mic Night (16+)

Express the artist within. Do you have a hidden or not so hidden talent? Come share with peers in your community. Singers, dancers, poets, rappers, comedians and other creatives are invited to bring their best each 4th Wednesday of the month. Each performer will have 5 minutes to present their talent. Please make sure content is appropriate and respectful to all.

Build Your Own: Dia de los Muertos Nicho

Nichos are small decorative boxes that honor the lives of our ancestors. You can dedicate your nicho to whomever you like…a family member, a pet, a famous person, anyone important to you. You can bring a picture to add to your box but all other supplies are provided. Space is limited to 10. Register at buckeyeaz.gov/librarycalendar
