What is Aqua Zumba and how does it work?
Aqua Zumba keeps the workout party going to the pool, led by an instructor who has specialty license and aquatic exercise certification. Students will perform large muscle movements by reaching the arms and lifting the legs in the water, as well as circling the hips and shoulders. You will experience the typical land-based Zumba dance steps, such as Cha Cha, merengue, salsa, mambo and other international moves, but more exaggerated and slower in the water. This class is a fun choice for the person looking for low impact exercise. Seniors may prefer Aqua Zumba instead of classes at a gym, or if they have had a hip or knee replacement. Since 80-90% of the body weight is displaced in the water when the water is at your chest level. At the same time your muscles will work in different ways as you deal with the resistance of the water rather than gravity. $5 per class if not enrolled in a session.

Yin yoga is also for anyone who’s dealing with injuries or chronic conditions like arthritis or osteoporosis, as this style in particular is a more restorative practice than other forms of exercise. Yin Yoga is not the typical sweaty intense vinyasa flow, but that doesn’t make it any less of a workout. Yin Yoga is a relaxed, passive style of yoga that involves holding poses and increasing your inner awareness. This includes paying attention to your breath, thoughts and body sensations. Max. 12.
