At this 6th annual pop-up adventure playground, Evanston nonprofit Purple Line Adventure Play will bring a truckload of sticks, as well as other interesting stuff for folks of all ages, abilities, and interests to play with. DECEMBER 18 FLASHLIGHT CANDY CANE HUNT Santa has hidden candy canes around the Fleetwood- Jourdain Center. Bring your flashlight and help us find them! First we’ll decorate bags to collect the candy canes, then go hunting for them. Santa himself will make a surprise appearance after our hunt for cookies and hot cocoa! This year’s City of Evanston Kwanzaa Celebration will include local food vendors and artists, a family art and crafts area, community West African drum and dance circles, and a beautiful storytelling presentation of Seven Spools of Thread: A Kwanzaa Story by Angela Shelf Medearis, told by Dr. Stephanie Davenport, nationally renowned storyteller. The entire family will enjoy celebrating the first day of Kwanzaa with other Evanston families. This is another City of Evanston Community Sharing Event.
The Evanston Recreation Deptarmtent will again host this annual celebration and we invite you and your family to celebrate with us.
