LEE STREET PARK AND STREETSCAPE 2 City Projects Continue—City Receives $200,000 CDBG Grant Lee Street Park (DEC 2015) and Streetscape 2 (FEB 2016) are progressing on time and under budget thus far this year. Site preparation continues at the park as fill dirt is being delivered. Streetscape 2 has begun on South Main St. and trenching for the placement of underground utilities will commence soon. The City recently received a grant award letter from the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) in the amount of $200,000. The grant, submitted by Mayor Day in December 2014, will be utilized toward completing the south end (east side) of Fayetteville Road with new sidewalks, curbing, catch basins, etc. This endeavor is slated for fiscal year 2016. Call City Hall for further details on these and any other project questions.

A Special Thank-You
NEW BUSINESSES
Our special thanks to Jonesboro cooks who furnished Cakes for our Cake Auction at Jonesboro Days. We also want to thank those who furnished desserts for our luncheon on that day . The Cake Auction and Dunking Booth (see article page 4) raised $465.00. Councilmen Wallace Norrington and Ed Wise worked together on this effort. All funds will be used for decorating the inside of the Firehouse Museum upon completion of the refurbishment in July 2015.
