Our online registration system allows customers to register via the Internet for most of our classes and programs. The system is available to residents 24-hours a day, seven days a week, except during times the system will be taken down for maintenance.

ePACT is a secure digital solution that allows you to quickly share the health and emergency information we need, and also provides us with powerful communication tools to ensure we have a way to message you in the event of an illness, injury, or larger scale emergency. ePACT also offers health screening and contactless checkin tools, ensuring we can properly mitigate risks of exposure to COVID-19. *We are currently using ePACT for summer camps and after school programs.

How do I register for an Activity? Once your account has been established, registration for Activities is easy: 1. Click the Activities button on the registration home page. 2. Select the Activity that you would like to enroll into. Clicking the underlined name will show you a detailed Activity description. 3. Click the Add to My Cart button if you wish to register for the Activity. 4. Next, sign in to your online registration account by entering your Login Name information and Password. Proceed to checkout by clicking the Continue button. From this screen you may remove Activities from your cart or view more Activities and add them to your cart. *Please Note: If more than one family member will be attending the Activity, click on the button labeled, Add Another One (located under the Shopping Cart screen). 5. Confirm your Activity name, date and time, enrollee and price. 6. Click Continue to proceed with payment. You will be prompted that you are entering a secure site. Enter your credit card information on the Payment Information Page and agree to any required waiver(s) and confirm the payer meets the age requirement of "13 Years or Older". Click Continue. This system accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. *Please Note: The name and address must match those that are on file with your credit company. If the address shown is not your credit card billing address, click on the My Account button and change your residential address to match your credit card billing address. 7. Adaptive sports, recreation and social programs are offered to youth and adults with intellectual disabilities. The City of Mesa Parks, Recreation & Community Facilities offers a wide variety of activities including weekly sports and recreation programs, special interest classes, social activities, and summer camp. Our mission is to “Let no one sit on the sidelines.”

SPECIAL OLYMPICS AND UNIFIED SPORTS MEDICAL FORMS POLICY

All athletes competing in any sport must have a current Special Olympics Arizona medical form on file with the City of Mesa before beginning practice for any sport. There is a specific form to be filled out by the doctor, as well as the family. It is suggested that you keep a copy of your current physical. You can get the form from Special Olympics Arizona here. Athletes participation in the sports programs with this symbol are eligible to compete in Special Olympics Arizona (SOAZ) competitions. The training schedule for each program is based on the competition schedule as determined by SOAZ. Fees collected for sports programs will cover the costs of staff, equipment and travel to competitions.

TGIF SOCIAL CLUB ADAPTIVE TGIF - ARIZONA BALLOON COWBOY

This program is designed for individuals 16 and older with intellectual disabilities. Enjoy entertainment by the Arizona Balloon Cowboy! He tells stories and creates life-size balloon animals. ADAPTIVE TGIF - B.A.D. BINGO

This program is designed for individuals 16 and older with intellectual disabilities. Glowsticks, neon lights, and Bingo After Dark - oh my! Participants will be play Bingo and enjoy a glowstick party! Participants must be able to function in a large group setting and manage their self- help needs. Face coverings are optional and social distancing is encouraged. For drop-off and pick-up, parents/guardians please pull up and wait for a staff person to accompany the participant to and from the building. Temperature checks will be required upon arrival. This program is designed for individuals with disabilities. The Adaptive Bocce program is for athletes 8 and older with an intellectual disability. Practice sessions prepare athletes for participation in area and state games. Special Olympics physical required. This is an outdoor activity. Bring plenty of water, wear a hat and cool clothing. This program is designed for individuals 16 and older with intellectual disabilities. Participants must be able to function in a large group setting and manage their self- help needs. ADAPTIVE GOLF - INDIVIDUAL SKILLS

This program is for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Don’t be a “birdie” on the side lines, come be part of Team Mesa. Athletes with intellectual disabilities will learn the fundamentals of golf, develop knowledge of the game, and have fun socializing with their peers. This golf program is for skill development and will take place on the putting greens and driving range only. This program is designed for individuals with intellectual disabilities who have progressed to Unified 9-hole golf with a Unified partner (volunteer without a disability). ADULT SPORTS PROGRAM CONTACT

Whether it's casual or competitive, there's always an opportunity to keep fit and have fun in the parks. The leagues include softball, senior softball, flag football, kickball, Recess for Adults, and volleyball. The spirit of our leagues is for fun and enjoyment.

FLAG FOOTBALL

Are you ready for some football? This flag football league has a recreational division (light-hearted competition) and a competitive division (geared towards the more advanced players). The league is an eight on eight player league and games start no earlier than 6:20pm. The season consists of 7 weeks of single games plus an end of season tournament for the top four teams. VOLLEYBALL

The City of Mesa offers a Thursday night Women’s volleyball league. Recreational & competitive leagues available. The season consists of 7 weeks of round robin style schedule with an end of season tournament for all teams. Each team plays one match per night, one match consists of 3 games. The first & second games are to 25pts and the third game to 15pts. Rally scoring is used. Games start no earlier than 6:30pm. All leagues are 6 on 6. SENIOR SOFTBALL

Come enjoy winter in sunny Mesa, Arizona. The City of Mesa, Parks & Recreation department offers a senior softball league during the winter (Jan-Feb). Registration takes place in mid-November and league play begins the first week of January. The league has five divisions of play ranging from very recreational (light-hearted competition) to competitive (geared toward the more advanced player). This program is geared towards adults 50 years and older.

Batter up! Softball is just around the corner! Call your friends and co-workers. Register your team online or on a walk-in basis. A variety of skill classifications and Men’s, corec and women’s leagues are available. Registration is on a “first come first serve” basis and is for full teams only. KICKBALL

The City of Mesa offers a Friday night adult kickball league (must be 18 years or older to play). This is a recreational league (light-hearted competition). The season consists of 7 weeks of double header, round robin style schedule with a tournament for all teams at the end of the season. Games are 50 min long. Beer permits are available for purchase at our office. Games start no earlier than 6:30pm. Bring lawn chairs, drinks, food and friends. Headbands are encouraged. RECESS FOR ADULTS

Bring a friend and your inner kid for the newest City of Mesa program, Recess for Adults! Recess for Adults is a recreation program for those who would like to try multiple activities. Each week, a new sport or game will be offered. Players will have a chance to compete and socialize. This program is geared towards adults (18+) of all skill levels. Locations may change from week to week. However, locations will always be within City of Mesa limits. Mini tournament format. Games will be self-officiated. Sign up as a pair. This is considered your team and will be kept together throughout the season. Expect mingling and fun! Post weekly get togethers at local establishments. AQUATICS

Class Descriptions COVID-19 Notice: For the health and safety of our citizens and staff, all swim lesson class sizes will be restricted. Masks are optional. Swim Instructors will teach from deck when possible. Parents/Guardians for levels 1 through 3 are allowed to be in the water with the child if they would like to be the ones to hold and maneuver their child through the skills. Only one parent/ guardian per participant is allowed to enter the facility. Please bring your own towels, chairs, goggles, and sunscreen.

STROKE CORRECTION

PARENT TOT

(6 months - 3 years) This class is designed to help babies or toddlers and their parents/ caregivers become more comfortable in and around water. Parents and children engage in water exploration activities with the objective of having fun. Parents will learn fundamentals of water safety as well as how to properly handle children in water and respond to emergencies. Please make sure your child wears a swim diaper if not potty trained. ADULT ACCOMPANIMENT REQUIRED. Fee: Resident: $25/Non-Resident: $30

LEVEL 1

(3 - 5 years) This class introduces children to basic water skills; which children continue to build on as they progress in their swimming ability. Participants start developing positive attitudes, effective swimming habits, and safe practicing in and around the water. Children will work on retrieving submerged objects, gliding, and rolling from front to back and back to front with support. Fee: Resident: $25/Non-Resident: $30

LEVEL 2

(4 - 7 years & older) This class introduces true locomotion in the water. Children will work on gliding and rolling without support and recover to a vertical position. Participants will begin to develop simultaneous and alternating arm and leg actions on front and back, laying the foundation for future stoke development. Fee: Resident: $25/Non-Resident: $30

LEVEL 3

(5 - 8 years & older) In this class children will begin to expand their skills in the water and learn and practice survival floating. Participants will learn front crawl, backstroke, and elementary backstroke at rudimentary proficiency and be introduced to treading. Participants will also begin headfirst entries from the pool deck (seated position). Fee: Resident: $25/Non-Resident: $30

LEVEL 4

(6 - 11 years & older) This class focuses on increasing endurance for previously learned swimming strokes (front crawl and backstroke) as well as introducing rudimentary sidestroke and breaststroke. Participants also learn butterfly basics. Open turns at the wall are also introduced in this level. Fee: Resident: $25/Non-Resident: $30

LEVEL 5

(7 - 12 years & older) In this level, children refine their performance of all six strokes (front crawl, back crawl, butterfly, breaststroke, elementary backstroke, and sidestroke) and increase the distances that they swim. Participants also learn to perform flip turns on their front and back as well as head-first entries from kneeling and standing positions. Fee: Resident: $25/Non-Resident: $30

(8-17 years) In this level, participants work to refine strokes so they can swim with greater efficiency and effectiveness over longer distances. Time is spent focusing on rhythmic breathing, swimming drills, turns and entries, and reading a pace clock, etc. This level prepares participants for swim team. This class is also a great supplement for children already on the swim team. Fee: Resident: $25/Non-Resident: $30

PEE WEE WATER POLO (6-17 years)

In the water polo class participants will get a beginners look at the exciting and fast-paced game of water polo. Participants learn ball handling, shooting and player positions, as well as several types of treading water for maximum agility in the game. Mini scrimmages may be held as this class prepares participants for enrollment in the water polo team. Participants must be comfortable swimming in deep water for extended periods. Resident: $25/Non-resident: $30

PRE-TEEN BEGINNER

(10 - 13 years) This class is designed to help youth ages 10-13 gain confidence in the water and build basic aquatic skills and swimming strokes in an environment amongst peers. Participants will practice lower skills until they are comfortable and proficient, helping them progress to more advanced water skills as time allows. Water safety topics and skills are also covered. Resident: $25/Non-resident: $30

ADULT LEARN TO SWIM (14+)

This class is designed for beginner level swimmers, ages 14 and up to provide opportunities to gain confidence in the water. Participants will practice lower skills until they are comfortable and proficient, helping them progress to more advanced water skills as time allows. Students will progress at their own pace and learn how to improve their swimming ability no matter the skill level. Water safety topics and skills are also covered in this class. Resident: $25/Non-resident: $30

DIVING

(6 - 16 years) This class focuses on the fundamentals of springboard diving. Participants will work on the foundations which include hurdles, safety, basic water entries and competitive dives such as pikes and straight dives. Participants must be 6 years old and must be able to swim comfortably in deep water for enrollment. Coaches will expand teaching based on individual diver ability. Fee: Resident: $25/Non-Resident: $30

SYNCHRO LESSONS

(6 - 17 years) Synchronized Swimming class is designed to introduce the sport of synchronized swimming to the newcomer and build on previously learned skills for those with a little more experience. Instructors lead each class with fun drills to improve swimming ability and agility for synchro figures. Mini routines and routine evaluation may be part of the session. Participants must be at least 6 years of age and very comfortable swimming in deep water. Resident: $25/Non-resident: $30

FLOWRIDER LEAGUEBEGINNER

(6-18 years) This monthly league gives advanced riders the opportunity to spend time practicing FlowRider skills in a closed, low-participation setting. This league is for beginner riders who are already learning to stand up on the wave. This league will focus on more instruction with a coach and practice to improve all FlowRider skills. The use of the Flow Fence will be determined by the lifeguards on duty. All riders must watch a safety video and have a completed liability wavier on the first day of class.. Fee: $95

FLOWRIDER LEAGUEINTERMEDIATE

(13+) This monthly league gives athletes the opportunity to spend weekly time learning and practicing FlowRider skills with a coach in a closed, lowparticipation setting. This league is for riders who are working on perfecting their stand-up skills by riding across the entire wave and getting more comfortable with balance and new techniques. Time will be spent with the Flow Fence out to allow for more practice space along the wave. The Flow Fence will be in for the last 30 minutes of class to allow for trick practice. All riders must watch a safety video and have a completed liability wavier on the first day of class. Fee: $95

FLOWRIDER LEAGUEADVANCED

(13+) This monthly league gives advanced riders the opportunity to spend time practicing FlowRider skills in a closed, low-participation setting. RESERVED LAP SWIM

(13+) Reserve your lane for lap/fitness swimming at Kino or Skyline this summer. For the health and safety of our citizens and staff, all lap swimmers will need to pre-register and reserve a time and lane in order swim laps. We will not accept walk-up/dropin swimmers and will have up to 2 swimmers per lap lane with 12-24 max swimmers per hour. Participants must exit the facility at the end of the hour to allow for cleaning and disinfecting of the facility. Fee: $4 or Pass

Catch the wave and hone your skills. Improve your balance, practice your skills, and learn new techniques during "no fence” FlowRider Time. This hour of FlowRider time allows participants to spend time learning and practicing FlowRider skills with a coach in a closed, low participation setting. This time is for riders who are working on perfecting their standup skills by riding across the entire wave and getting more comfortable with balance and new techniques. The Flow Fence is not up during this ride time. All riders must watch a safety video and have a completed liability wavier on the first day of class. Participants must be at least 42” tall for the boogie board and 48” for the Stand-up board as well as have a liability wavier signed by a legal guardian. Fee: $12

Ages: 12 - 15 years The Jr. Lifeguard program is a service-learning approved volunteer program for youth interested in work experience in preparation for a lifeguarding job. Participants will be given instruction in assisting with swim lessons, leadership, pool safety, emergency response, and professionalism. Training will be given the first few days of summer. After training, participants are asked to volunteer a minimum of 30 hours at the aquatic facility. Participants must be able to swim 150 yards continuously, tread water for 60 seconds and surface dive and swim under water for a minimum of 10 yards. *If you are wishing to complete this program as part of service learning, preapproval at your school is needed in order to receive credit* Resident: $55/Non-resident: $70

VETERAN JUNIOR GUARD

Ages: 12 - 15 years The Veteran Jr. Lifeguard program is for youth who previously volunteered as a Jr. Guard. Participants will assist with swim lessons and pool safety, as well as learn about emergency response, and professionalism. Training will be given the first few days of summer. After training, Veteran Jr. Guards are asked to volunteer a minimum of 50 hours at the aquatic facility. If a Veteran Jr. Guard completes at least 75 hours of volunteering, they will receive a 50% discount on upcoming lifeguard training class (must be completed within a year). Participants must be able to swim 150 yards continuously, tread water for 60 seconds and surface dive and swim under water for a minimum of 10 yards. Resident: $35/Non-resident: $50

LIFEGUARD TRAINING

Ages: 15+ This course is designed to teach lifeguarding responsibilities and rescue skills to certify participants as American Red Cross Lifeguards. Students must come prepared to swim on the first day of class and must be at least 15 years old by the last day of class. Proof of age is required on the first day of class. All class dates are mandatory. Participants will have to pass pre-requisite skills on the first day of class in order to continue with training. The pre-requisite skills include a 300-yard swim using freestyle and backstroke, a surface dive to a depth of 10 feet to retrieve a 10-pound object and swim in under 1 minute 40 seconds, and a timed deep-water tread. Catch the wave all year at Rhodes Aquatic Complex. This monthly league gives advanced riders the opportunity to spend time practicing FlowRider skills in a closed, low-participation setting. This league is for experienced riders who are already comfortable on the FlowRider and are working on enhancing their tricks and skills on the wave. Most of the time will be spent with the Flow Fence in to allow for multiple riders to practice skills at the same time. All riders must watch a safety video and have a completed liability wavier on the first day of class. This league is for riders who are working on perfecting their stand-up skills by riding across the entire wave and getting more comfortable with balance and new techniques. Time will be spent with the Flow Fence out to allow for more practice space along the wave. The Flow Fence will be in for the last 30 minutes of class to allow for trick practice. The Mesa Tennis Center is open to the public and features 16 lighted courts and 9 lighted pickleball courts available for rental. Youth and adult group tennis lessons, adult leagues, tournaments, court reservations and racket restringing are available. Check-in at 7:00am, warm-up at 7:15am. This is a 1 day event, non-elimination round robin format. Tournament features three skill levels for boys and girls; Gold (advanced), Silver (intermediate) & Bronze (beginner). Within the different skill levels there are different ball types; Orange Dot Ball, Green Dot Ball, and Yellow Ball. The focus on these one day tournaments is on having FUN and Playing More Tennis. Event can only take 32 total players due to court restricts so sign-up early, this tournament may fill before the deadline! Yellow Standard Ball Divisions and Green Dot Ball Divisions are played on the Full Court. The Orange Dot Ball division is played on the 60 ft blue lines court. Our goal is to keep your kids active and healthy this summer while following the CDC guidelines for safety. The program offers a variety of recreational opportunities including active games, crafts, board games, special events, virtual field trips, movies and more. Participants must bring a water bottle, lunch and two snacks daily. Campers will be placed into small groups of 10 or less with limited interaction with other groups. Participants must be able to function independently in a small group setting with their peers. Campers must be able to follow the physical distancing protocol of 6 feet or greater which also includes refraining from high-fives, holding hands, handshakes, and hugs. Masks are optional. Each day we will offer a new sport where you will get a chance to learn the basic fundamentals of the game. Participants must wear closed toe athletic shoes. All skill levels and abilities are welcome and encouraged! This co-ed camp is for participants enrolling in 1st-6th grade in the fall.
