I L VE MY

LIBRARY

BECAUSE...

I love that the library is free, quieter, and very familyfriendly. I love the wonderful children's sections. I have used them for my grandson but also for my job as a preschool teacher. I have checked out books for myself, trying out new authors. I have stopped in to just read on my lunch breaks. It is a great place for teens after school too. Just so much goodness!

I love that the library is a place for ALL to gather. It is a safe, welcoming space for our community. The library has transformed so much over the years and has so many amazing resources, events and activities for all ages! I love the library.

MPL has given us the opportunity to learn and laugh together. I appreciate the varied selection and the ease by which additional recommendations can be made.

The library is a place for me to go when I need to think or write, when I need inspiration, or just a break from the world outside. The library will always be a part of me, and I am so grateful for all those who work there. Thank you!

I have used the library for so many things, from taking out books and films to taking computer classes to help with getting a job. We have also attended classes on planting trees and researching family. Love the library.

I could never afford to read (or listen to) as many books as I do without the library. Love my local library.

Many years ago, I was financially strapped and didn't own a laptop. I was job hunting. I showed up at the library every single day to apply for jobs, respond to emails, research companies etc. It was a tremendous resource for me. I would recommend the library to anyone in a similar situation!

I have had a library card for as long as I can remember. Many of my happiest childhood memories include towing our suitcase around, stuffing in all the books that looked fun to read.

Access to digital ebooks and audiobooks has given me access to tons of books I otherwise would not have read. They’ve made my otherwise boring commutes and long drives quite entertaining.

The library saves me a fortune. If I bought every book I borrowed and read, I would go broke. The library helped me get a new job. Over a decade ago, I didn’t own a computer, so I used library resources to apply. I’m still with the organization I got the job with using library equipment.

I have always loved the idea of public libraries! So many resources! Volunteering to sort books has opened my eyes to just how many resources are available. Being around books always makes me feel better.

My favorite memory is coming to the library with my kids. I would help them select several books that we would read at home. I re-read so many favorite books from my childhood. And the time spent reading to my kids is precious to me. So the library has been important to me through all phases of my life.

Ever since I started going to the library a few years ago, I’ve always had a place outside of home that felt safe so I could study and make friends.

I used to rely on the library for an easy outting when my kids were younger. Now my daughter takes her 3 children to the library. #LibraryLegacy

I am enjoying the classes and technology where I can access many reference materials online that one would otherwise have to pay for, i.e., newspapers, learning Word, Excel, etc.

I save tons of money and get to read all kinds of books. I don’t feel bad if I hate a book and choose not to finish it.

If I had no access to the library, I would be very unhappy. I love to read. The library helps me do that without bankrupting myself.

Mesa Library is a nice, cool, quiet place to gain some knowledge and meet new people, which helped change my life in a positive way.

From rural Bookmobile (Indiana) to small town public (watchful librarians) to college libraries (work study) to graduate school (Cornell), libraries have been my life sustenance.

It has provided a very comfortable and peaceful safe haven for my hectic life while providing a purpose to serve the community.
