Renovations are underway at the Dobson Ranch Library.

Construction will expand the library's footprint by 1600 square feet, and will add a THINKspot makerspace for community innovation and networking. Additionally, the façade of the building will be updated. The improved entry will offer greater visibility and convenience for library users. ARIZONA HUMANITIES PRESENTS: PAPER SONS: TALES OF CHAIN MIGRATION IN TUCSON ☑ Thurs | Jun 30 | 12:30pm – 1:30pm | ONLINE In 1882, the Chinese Exclusion Act was passed to curb Chinese immigration to the U.S. To counter the legislations, immigrants created ways of bringing in their close kin, clan relatives or even fellow villagers. But such processes were long, complex and had enduring effects on the lives and psyches of the immigrants involved, as revealed by the stories of the “paper sons” among the Gin clan in Tucson’s Chinese community. But such processes were long, complex and had enduring effects on the lives and psyches of the immigrants involved, as revealed by the stories of the “paper sons” among the Gin clan in Tucson’s Chinese community. Ananse’s tales are told to not only explain the origins of the Akan people, but are also used to reinforce the belief system that enriches their society. Additionally, the façade of the building will be updated. The improved entry will offer greater visibility and convenience for library users.
