Priorities Early Literacy Mesa Public Library’s emphasis on early literacy is embraced at all levels of the department through innovative programming, selective development of the children’s collection, and engagement in the community. Goals: • Improve programming effectiveness through continuous evaluation • Increase school partnerships and collaborative efforts in the community • Strengthen the children’s collection through data-driven decisions and increased funding
The Collection Mesa Public Library has a diverse collection of materials. We select titles that support the current and future informational and entertainment needs of the community. Goals: • Improve collection management through the use of data • Increase use of the collection through innovative marketing • Expand resources devoted to the collection
Staff Support Mesa Public Library’s most valuable resource is our people. We support each other to learn, grow, and serve our community. Goals: • Increase access to training and professional development opportunities • Encourage professional growth • Strengthen communication to and from all levels • Expand recognition and appreciation opportunities • Analyze demands and prioritize workload to ensure adequate staffing levels system-wide
