Definition of a “resident” and “family” • “Residents” are people who live within the City of O’Fallon’s
• • •
corporate limits. City limits and Post Office boundaries are not the same, so it’s possible to have an O’Fallon address, yet live outside the City, or have a postal address in an adjacent municipality, yet live in O’Fallon. A “resident family” is defined as 2–5 people* living at the same address within O’Fallon city limits. A “non-resident family” is defined as 2–4 people* living at the same address outside of O’Fallon city limits.
All family members must be declared when a family membership is purchased. Inappropriate use of membership ID and/or privileges may result in termination or suspension of the membership.
* Additional individual family members (ages 3+) may be added to an RSC membership at the cost of $25 for residents, $50 for non-residents.
The City of O’Fallon Parks and Recreation Department welcomes people of all abilities to participate in our programs and services. If you or someone you know has a disability and you would like to participate in one of our programs, please let us know how we can best meet your needs. The City of O’Fallon fully complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) in making reasonable accommodations to facilitate participation. The Parks and Recreation Department is involved in a St. Charles County-wide Recreation Inclusion Partnership, which provides an Inclusion Coordinator to assist with these accommodations. For more information on our Inclusion Coordinator, please see page 42. This information is available in alternate formats on request.

Tae Kwon Do This 6-week Martial Arts program will focus on the traditional Korean form of Tae Kwon Do known as Chung Do Kwan. This style is based on explosive movements, devastating power and self-discipline. All students begin training at the “no belt” level. After learning the eight basics and the first form they will be invited to test for the white belt. Students will progress through a series of techniques and belts. Because each student progresses at his or her own pace, testing will be at the discretion of the instructor.
Tae Kwon Do Open House If you are considering signing up for one of our Tae Kwon Do classes but would like to try it out first, this is your chance. Learn to Swim O
’Fallon’s Learn to Swim program is built on teaching aquatic and safety skills in a logical progression. Our goal is to teach children and adults how to swim and be safe in and around the water. The program is composed of 11 course levels:
Aqua Learning: Preschool: Preschool Plus: Level 1: Level 2: Level 3: Level 4: Level 5: Level 6: Level:
Shrimp I and II, Pollywog Turtle Seahorse Explorer Submarine Clipper Sailor Adventurer Barracuda Adult
Aqua Learning: Parent and child participation is required. Class size is limited to eight parent-child couples. Pollywog: Class ratio is four to one instructor. Parents are required to be in the water the first four classes. Preschool – Level 3: Class ratio is six children to one instructor. Levels 4 – 6: Class ratio is eight children to one instructor. Adult: Class ratio is eight adults to one instructor. Participants will move to the next class or skill level when all skills from the previous level are mastered. Some classes may seem repetitive, but we want swimmers to perfect their skills in order to advance safely. Please keep in mind that children learn at different paces and it’s common to repeat a class.
Which class is right for my child? To ensure your child’s success in the Learn to Swim program, it’s important to register children for the appropriate level. Children who have participated in the swimming program should register according to the last class successfully completed. Each child must pass a particular level before proceeding to the next.
Weekday classes at the RSC meet twice weekly for four weeks and last 35 minutes. Saturday morning sessions last 40 minutes and meet for seven weeks. Weekday classes at Alligator’s Creek meet four times a week for two weeks. Saturday morning sessions meet for 35 minutes once a week for eight weeks.
Aqua Learning This program helps children ages 6 months to 3 years become comfortable in and around water and prepares them to learn how to swim. The class is divided into two sections: Shrimp I and Shrimp II. Please note: Classes may seem repetitive because they are introductions to water.
Shrimp I • Ages 6 – 18 months Parent-child or guardian participation in the water is required. The instructor will demonstrate techniques as parents learn how to safely guide children and help them advance at their own pace.

O’FallonTheatreWorks presents Bill W. and Dr. Bob March 20–22 and 27–29, 2015 On the stage at the O’Fallon Municipal Centre (City Hall) Curtain time is 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 2 p.m. on Sundays; Concessions will be available. The Box Office opens one hour before each show. This critically acclaimed, award-winning drama tells the story of the two men who pioneered Alcoholics Anonymous, and of their wives, who founded Al Anon. During the Roaring ‘20s, New York stockbroker Bill Wilson rides high on money, fame, and booze. But with the stock market crash of 1929, he becomes a hopeless drunk. Meanwhile, Dr. Bob Smith, an Akron, Ohio surgeon and pillar of the community has been a secret drunk for 30 years, often going into the operating room with a hangover. His family tried everything, to no avail. Then, through an astonishing series of events, Bill and Bob meet on Mother’s Day in1935. The two men form a relationship which keeps each sober. Fired up, they seek out a third drunk to see if their program will work for others. Richly textured with the ragtime and jazz of the era, the play tells a magnificent American success story.

Opportunities for Instructors and Trainers The Fitness Program welcomes qualified, dependable people willing to share their knowledge with others. If you are certified and have experience in any fitness programs, plus an interest in working with others, please contact Ty Joyce, Recreation Fitness Specialist, at 636-474-8122 or tjoyce@ofallon.mo.us.
Ask the Doctor On the first Monday of every month from 6–7 p.m., meet Dr. Scott Grogan, a board-certified Chiropractic Physician, by the desk in the fitness center for answers to your health and fitness-related questions. Dr. Grogan completed his full body certification in Active Release Technique in 2011, giving him a unique approach to the treatment of patients by addressing not only the joints but the surrounding soft-tissue as well. Dr. Grogan utilizes the “joint-by-joint” approach to patient care, which emphasizes the impact that the kinetic chain (ankles, knees, hips, shoulders etc.) can have on the entire body. Through functional analysis Dr. Grogan will locate the true dysfunction and source of the problem to arrive at an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan. Through mobilization of the joints and by placing a heavy emphasis on soft-tissue treatment and rehabilitation, his goal is to provide fast, effective care and empower patients to take control of their own health.
