Another

summer come and gone – too quickly.

While it may have felt too short, it sure wasn’t boring! We were able to celebrate O’Fallon’s Gold Medal Summer, beginning with the Olympic Art Reception in April, to the highly anticipated Jammin’ Concert series, and of course, the largest Independence Day celebration in the area…Heritage and Freedom Fest. Even Mother Nature couldn’t stop the annual Fourth of July parade!

As we go from hot summer nights to falling leaves, O’Fallon continues to be the destination for everyone with its annual fall events. Our Fall into the Arts festival will, once again, take place in O’Day Park on Sunday, September 22. Join me as our beautiful park is taken over by fine arts, live music, local food trucks, and more. After the performance success of both Trail to Oregon and Mean Girls (High School Version), our O’Fallon Theatre Works has another wonderful ensemble gathered for this fall. Join us at the O’Fallon Municipal Centre from September 20 – 22 and September 27 – 29 for Arcadia, a wonderful performance set in a 19th century English estate. Be sure to purchase your tickets online before they sell out. September is also the month that O’Fallon turns country as Easton Corbin comes to O’Fallon’s CarShield Field to perform on September 27. More information on how to purchase tickets can be found on page 4. Of course, fall wouldn’t be the same without a little spooktacular fun. You’ve experienced food trucks at Jammin’ and our Food Truck Frenzy in Sports Park…now get ready (and dressed up!) for some fun at Food Truck Fright on Friday, October 11 in Dames Park.

Please join me on November 11 at the Veterans Memorial Walk as we celebrate and honor our service members on Veterans Day. Don't forget about Wednesday, November 20 for the Tree Lighting Ceremony at City Hall. This annual event is a great way to kickoff the holiday season, and plan to join us for the 23rd annual Celebration of Lights held each year in Fort Zumwalt Park.

Not only are our fall events something to be proud of, but I also want to share some exciting news. For more than a year, our wonderful staff has been working to bring you new websites. These new sites, scheduled to be unveiled in October, will have a refreshed look and enhanced capabilities for visitors to find the information they are looking for. Turn to page 2 to learn more about the transition from www.ofallon.mo.us to www.ofallonmo.gov.

I look forward to seeing you and your families at our wonderful fall events.

Sincerely,

O'Fallon is excited to announce the launch of our redesigned website in October. The new website offers a user-friendly interface, improved navigation, and a wealth of information about City services, events, and community resources.

In addition to the website's new look, the City of O’Fallon is adopting a new web domain. The current web address will become www.ofallonmo.gov. This change will go into effect in October. On August 1st, all City email address domains were changed from user@ofallon.mo.us, to user@ ofallonmo.gov. For now, the former email address domain will automatically forward to the new email addresses, but please update your address book.

Utility Billing Software Upgrade

The City of O’Fallon’s Utility Billing Division is upgrading its software, which is projected to be completed by the end of 2024. The utility bill, late notice, and online portal will have a new look. The online portal accessed from the City’s website will allow you to make quick payments or create an account. If an account is created, you will be able to see your metered and nonmetered services at your address, billing and payment history, past water consumption for two years (if applicable), along with your contact preferences and ability to enroll in paperless e-billing. Stay tuned for further information when the transition to the new software occurs.

O'Fallon Police Department earns accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA)

In 2022, the O’Fallon Missouri Police Department committed to a multi-year process to seek accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA). This accreditation is considered the gold standard in law enforcement and focuses on standards that provide best practices related to life, health, and safety procedures for law enforcement agencies. These standards are considered foundational for contemporary law enforcement agencies.

A previous attempt at CALEA accreditation nearly three decades ago was unsuccessful due to insufficient resources. However, the department remained steadfast in its pursuit of excellence. In 2019, they achieved accreditation through the Missouri Police Chiefs Accreditation process, laying a solid foundation for the more comprehensive CALEA standards. Accreditation is not a one-time achievement but an ongoing commitment to transparency, accountability, and community service. The O'Fallon Police Department is dedicated to upholding the values recognized by this achievement for years to come.
