All family members must be declared when a family membership is purchased. Inappropriate use of membership ID and/or privileges may result in termination or suspension of the membership.

*Additional individual family members (ages 3+) may be added to an RSC membership at the cost of $25 for residents, $50 for non-residents.

Resident Privilege Cards* For resident rates and discounts All O’Fallon residents are eligible for resident rates on park facilities and admissions with a Resident Privilege Card, which is issued free of charge to residents and their children. Apply for Resident Privilege Cards at either the Renaud Spirit Center or the Parks and Recreation Office. Residents ages 16 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to obtain a card. The cards expire two years from the date that they’re issued. Lost cards may be replaced for $5.

Proof of residency To obtain a Resident Privilege Card, you must present both proof of identity and proof of residency. Acceptable forms of photo ID, which must** show your current O’Fallon address, include:

• Missouri driver’s license or identification card • College student identification card • Military identification card

Please check with your doctor before beginning any exercise program.

Ask the Doctor On the first Monday of the month, you’re invited to submit health and fitness-related questions to Dr. Scott Grogan, a board-certified chiropractic physician. Dr. Grogan will be available by the Fitness Center desk Dr. Grogan is certified in Active Release Technique, which addresses not only the joints but the surrounding soft tissue. The technique uses a “joint-by-joint” approach to patient care, emphasizing the impact that the kinetic chain (ankles, knees, hips, shoulders etc.) can have on the entire body. Using functional analysis, Dr. Grogan will locate the true dysfunction and source of the problem and arrive at an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan. By mobilizing the joints and placing a heavy emphasis on soft-tissue treatment and rehabilitation, Dr. Grogan aims to provide fast, effective care and empower patients to take control of their own health.

Young children attending without a parent must be completely potty-trained and able to use the restroom independently. If your child is not potty-trained but would like to participate in one of our programs, please call 636-474-8111 for information on making arrangements.

Let’s Move! is a comprehensive initiative dedicated to solving the problem of childhood obesity within a generation, so that children born today will grow up healthier and able to pursue their dreams. O’Fallon’s Parks and Recreation Department has worked to achieve the goals set forth in the program. For more information, visit www.ofallon.mo.us/parks&rec/lets-move.

Tae Kwon Do This six-week Martial Arts program will focus on the traditional Korean form of Tae Kwon Do known as Chung Do Kwan. This style is based on explosive movements, devastating power and self-discipline. All students begin training at the “no belt” level. After learning the eight basics and the first form they will be invited to test for the white belt. Students will progress through a series of techniques and belts at their own pace and will NOT necessarily test each session. Because each student progresses at his or her own pace, testing will be at the discretion of the instructor. Children who would like to progress at a faster pace may register for more than one class.

If you are interested in watching one of the classes to see if it is something your child would be interested in, you may do so the last week of the session. Tyke Kwon Do • Ages 3–5

Renaud Spirit Center Preschool • Ages 3 – 5 Join us for fun and learning at the Renaud Spirit Center Preschool! When registering, you must pay for the entire session. Ask the front desk for more details about payment methods. If space is available, students may enroll after sessions begin. Enroll now! This great eleven-month dance program encourages students to practice and improve throughout the school year, and culminates with a Year-End Dance Recital. Class participation is crucial in preparing for the recital, so we ask that children commit to attending ALL scheduled classes through June 2017. New students will be accepted into the program at any time; however, students who join after December 31, 2016, will not be eligible to participate in the recital held June 2017. Classes are held at the Civic Annex, 410 East Elm Street, O’Fallon, MO 63366. Regular participation in Civic Dance Studio is the best way to help students build a progressive foundation for dance as they learn and practice dance steps and master the skills they need. Enrollment options are as follows:

Civic Dance Studio classes emphasize correct technique, placement, elegance and discipline. Class typically includes a warm-up, progressive steps across the floor and dance combos. Ballet classes include ballet and pointe at the barre. Students progress at different rates. To assign the class most helpful to them, dancers will be assessed for ability as well as age, with age considered secondary. Students also will be monitored to be sure that placement is correct. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to speak to your child’s instructor. Civic Dance Studio also has a Competition Team. If you are interested in being on the team, please contact the instructors. Private lessons are also available. To set this up, please contact Danielle Reecht at 636474-8111 or dreecht@ofallon.mo.us.

From marauding pirates and jungle tyrants to unwilling comrades and unlikely heroes, Peter and the Starcatcher playfully explores the depths of greed and despair... and the bonds of friendship, duty and love. A young orphan and his mates are shipped off from Victorian England to a distant island ruled by the evil King Zarboff. They know nothing of the mysterious trunk in the captain’s cabin, which contains a precious, otherworldly cargo. At sea, the boys are discovered by a precocious young girl named Molly, a Starcatcher-in-training who realizes that the trunk’s precious cargo is starstuff, a celestial substance so powerful that it must never fall into the wrong hands. When the ship is taken over by pirates led by the fearsome Black Stache, a villain determined to claim the trunk and its treasure for his own, the journey quickly becomes a thrilling adventure.

Learn to Swim O

’Fallon’s Learn to Swim program is built on teaching aquatic and safety skills in a logical progression. Our goal is to teach children and adults how to swim and be safe in and around the water. The program is composed of 11 course levels:

Aqua Learning: Preschool: Preschool Plus: Level 1: Level 2: Level 3: Level 4: Level 5: Level 6: Level:

Shrimp I and II, Pollywog Turtle Seahorse Explorer Submarine Clipper Sailor Adventurer Barracuda Adult

Aqua Learning: Parent and child participation is required. Class size is limited to eight parent-child couples. Pollywog: Class ratio is four to one instructor. Parents are required to be in the water the first four classes. Preschool – Level 3: Class ratio is six children to one instructor. Levels 4 – 6: Class ratio is eight children to one instructor.

Which class is right for my child? To ensure your child’s success in the Learn to Swim program, it’s important to register children for the appropriate level. Children who have participated in the swimming program should register according to the last class successfully completed. Each child must pass a particular level before proceeding to the next.

Aqua Learning This program helps children ages 6 months to 3 years become comfortable in and around water and prepares them to learn how to swim. The class is divided into two sections: Shrimp I and Shrimp II. Please note: Classes may seem repetitive because they are introductions to water.

Shrimp I • Ages 6 – 18 months Parent-child or guardian participation in the water is required. The instructor will demonstrate techniques as parents learn how to safely guide children and help them advance at their own pace. Min./Max. 3/8

Adult: Class ratio is eight adults to one instructor.

Morning Classes

Participants will move to the next class or skill level when all skills from the previous level are mastered. Some classes may seem repetitive, but we want swimmers to perfect their skills in order to advance safely. Please keep in mind that children learn at different paces and it’s common to repeat a class.
