BALL

Youth Ball Hockey -

Tiny Tyke T-ball “Everybody gets to play – Everybody has fun”! T-Ball, is the perfect sport for getting kids started in the game of baseball and softball. Learning to “Run, Catch and Throw” is critical by this age. This program helps develop ball skills without exerting too much pressure on young players, keeping the game safe, and allowing them to have lots of fun. One of the best things about this game is that it is relatively easy to teach kids so they can play in no time even with little experience! Using parents as leaders, our program will incorporate “FUNdamentals” from Canada’s Sport for Life program to enhance your child’s physical activity experience. This program is a forerunner to Red Deer Minor Baseball and Softball programs and uses game and skill fundamentals from Baseball Canada’s & Softball Canada’s developmental programs. The program is offered on Tuesdays or Saturdays. Volunteer “Team-Leader” positions are required in order for the league to run. Each team will need a Leader and Assistant Leader. Leaders will be required to submit a Criminal Records Check (CRC). Each team will receive an equipment bag (no gloves) with Leaders’ Manual and during the first week coaches and players from Red Deer Minor Baseball’s rep program(AA and AAA teams) will be onsite to work with the kids and also help the leaders of the teams with various drills they can use to practice different skills… All players will receive a league t-shirt.
