Adaptive Equipment Rental Program

Ages: All

Cost: Varies

Our adaptive recreation equipment is available to rent (sport wheelchairs, beach wheelchairs, hand cycles, etc.). Affordable prices for participants to try before they buy.

Access for All

Providing accommodations to those with disabilities to participate in leisure and recreation programs, classes, and services. To participate in a program, contact Inclusion Services a minimum of five business days prior to the program. Hearing impaired individuals can use Nevada Relay by dialing 711 for assistance

Dance for All

City of Reno and City of Sparks presents Dance for All: For Teens and Adults with Special Needs.

Wheelchair Rugby

Ages: All

Cost: $50

Thursdays 2-5pm

Location: EMNECC

Wheelchair or quad rugby is a fast-paced and competitive sport for people with physical disabilities. Players use special “rugby wheelchairs” and must be able to push their own wheelchairs.

Wheelchair Basketball

Ages: All Cost: $50

Saturdays 1-3pm Location: EMNECC

Are you interested in the extreme challenge of wheelchair basketball? Wheelchair basketball is a sport for everyone - people who use wheelchairs for mobility and people who don’t.

Wheelchair Sports Skills and Drills

Ages: All Cost: $50

Saturdays, 10am-12pm Location: EMNECC

Whether you’re just getting started or looking to develop your skills to get to the next level, this program will help you along your journey through sport. Coached by Paralympic Gold Medalist, ThreeTime Gold Medalist in Alpine Skiing and Basketball Alana Nichols, practices will focus on conditioning and sport specific drills.

Sled Hockey

Ages: All

Cost: $50

Fridays 4:15-5:15pm

Location: Reno Ice - 15500 Wedge Pkwy.

Participants with physical disabilities will get a chance to learn about sled hockey and get on the ice. All equipment and on-ice instruction provided. Please wear long pants and closed toed shoes. No prior experience necessary.

Adaptive Cycling Center

City of Reno Adaptive plans to pilot an Adaptive Cycling Center this Summer at the Rosewood Nature Study Area (formerly Rosewood Golf Course). Rosewood Nature Study Area is a great launching point to access the Southeast Connector trail as well as connecting to the Tahoe-Pyramid Bike trail.

This membership based program will allow persons with disabilities to access our many adaptive bikes and jump directly on the trail, no bike transport needed! Join us on May 6th for the grand opening with free adaptive bike use, vendors, food trucks and a bike rodeo!

Veterans Programs

Project HERO: City of Reno

Ages: 18+

Cost: Free

Project HERO (Healing Exercise Rehabilitation Opportunity) provides training and supports cycling programs at military hospitals, Army Transition Units, Marine Wounded Warrior Units and Veterans Affairs locations to help healing heroes.

Fit But Not Forgotten

Ages: 18+

Cost: Free Wednesdays 5:30-6:30pm Thursday 12-1pm and Friday 1011am

This program offers weekly fitness classes in our facility weight room covering equipment, fitness level assessment, strength development techniques, fitness goal discussion, endurance and flexibility. Upon completion of four classes, participants will be eligible for a free all-inclusive one year facility membership.

Spinal Cord Injury/Disease Lunch and Learn

Ages: All

Cost: Free

3rd Wednesday 11:30am-1pm

Location: EMNECC/Online

Join City of Reno, VA Sierra Nevada Health Care System, Renown Health and High Fives Foundation for Spinal Cord Injury/ Disease specific resources, topics and guest speakers during our monthly community-based luncheons.
