Summer will be here before you know it and we have just the spot to beat the heat. Join us at Cypress Park Pool, located at 2001 Arizona Avenue, this season.

Public Open Swim

Dates: May 30 - September 4, Tuesdays - Sundays Time: 2:00 - 6:00 PM Cost: Free Location: Cypress Park Pool Ages: All children must be accompanied by an adult You must have a pool pass for open swim.

Swim Beginners

Dates: June 27 - August 4 Time: Varies Cost: $30 Location: Cypress Park Pool Ages: 5--17, 18+ To register for swim lessons visit our Administration Office. Bring a swimsuit, towel and goggles.

Party Rentals

Times: 5:00 - 7:00 PM on Fridays, 11:00 AM -1:00 PM on Saturdays Age: All Cost: Price reflects the size of the rental party Location: Cypress Park Pool

Prepaid Group Swim is available Tuesdays and Thursdays 12:00 -2:00 PM June 21- September 1. Reservations are required to secure group swim slots and party rentals. For more pool information, call 757-514-7254.

Adult Fall COED Softball

Registration: July 5 – August 9 Cost: Residents $350 per team Ages: 18+ The season will be 8 weeks long and begins August 26. A tournament will be held at the conclusion of the season.

Adult Basketball

Registration: July 5 – August 9 Cost: $320 per team Ages:18 + The season will be 9 weeks long and begins August 31. A tournament will be held at the conclusion of the season.

WINTER LEAGUE SPORTS

Lil Dribblers, Lil Pom Pom, and Tiny Kickz

Ages: 4-5 Cost: $40 for resident, $50 non-resident

Youth Basketball, Cheering, and Indoor Soccer Ages: 6-15 Cost: $60 for resident, $70 non-resident

Online registration is open September 1 – October 21. Registration will be held at the Admin Building September 6 – October 28, Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM. Registration will be held at Creekside and Mack Benn Jr Recreation Centers ONLY on Saturdays in October from 10:00 AM - 1:30 PM. Volunteer coaches needed for all sports.

Active Adult Senior Program

Dates: Ongoing Monday – Friday Age: 55+ Time: 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM Cost: Free with Annual Membership Join us at the East Suffolk or Curtis R. Milteer, Sr. Recreation Center for the Active Adult Senior Program. This program offers an assortment of activities ranging from social, cultural, physical, instructional, health & wellness, and crafts. There is a $5 annual membership fee. Limited transportation is provided by Senior Services of Southeastern Virginia. Lunch is served daily to qualified participants 60+ for a $2 donation.

Art & Music Series

Dates: May 24, June 28, July 26, and August 23 Age: 55+ Time: 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM Cost: Free with Annual Membership Location: East Suffolk Recreation Center Come enjoy this exciting arts & music series in partnership with Tidewater Arts Outreach! Pre-registration is required.

Day Trip to Edenton, NC

Dates: August 5 Age: 55+ Time: 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM Cost: $9 Lace up your walking shoes and join Active Adults 55+ as we spend the day exploring the quaint town of Edenton, NC! You will have the opportunity to visit the Welcome Center, take a guided trolley tour, browse through local shops and enjoy a “Dutch” lunch at one of the local restaurants. This is a day trip you don’t want to miss! Space is limited. Pre-registration is required.

Senior Cookout

Date: August 26 Location: Curtis R. Milteer, Sr. Recreation Center Time: 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM Ages: 55+ Cost: $12 Come out and end your summer with us while enjoying all your favorite foods, games and people. Registration will be from July 18 until August 19.

Learn to Paint with Oils

Dates: June 21 + 28 Age: 55+ Time: 1:00 - 3:00 PM Cost: Free Location: Suffolk Cultural Arts Center Calling all art enthusiasts! Come join us as we partner with the Tidewater Arts Outreach to offer this two-part art class where participants will have the opportunity to learn basic oil painting techniques. All supplies will be provided. Pre-registration is required.

Dates: May 5 - 12 Age: 55+ Time: 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM Cost: Free Location: Suffolk Cultural Arts Center Calling all art enthusiasts! Come join us as we partner with the Tidewater Arts Outreach to offer this two-part art class where participants will have the opportunity to learn basic acrylic painting techniques. All supplies will be provided. Pre-registration is required.
