• Logistics of materials, people and plant was the biggest challenge
• Coordinating necessary works within a live station environment
• Last January’s flood event was a major challenge for the team
• Despite everything we delivered on time and under budget
• Thank you to the members of the CLG, community, passengers and the station team
• We appreciated your amazing patience and understanding while we were working
• It’s been a big two years and we have achieved a lot
• Began dismantling in late January, stripping out internal walls and removing the buildings
• Temporary station roof and wall cladding now removed
• Crane now on site to dismantle structural steelwork
• Elevated Work Platforms will be used in conjunction with the crane, as well as mechanical wrenches to unbolt steel connections and beams so they can be lowered to the ground safely and removed from site
• Traffic management and pedestrian movements have been in place around Tyler, Galway and Commerce Streets and have been operating as normal during these works
• Noise levels have been constantly monitored during the deconstruction period
• Due to be completed by the end of March
