Questions and Answers
What are the dates for the first section of works on Mercury Lane?
Stage one of the works will begin on 15 April 2024 and will take place on the southern section of Mercury Lane, from the bottom of the Mercury Lane / Cross Street junction to the entrance to Wilsons Parking at the bottom of Mercury Lane.
How many commuters do you think will use each exit at Karanga-a-Hape Station?
We expected two thirds will use Beresford Square and one third will use Mercury Lane.
Regarding Beresford Square, is it now Auckland Transport’s design?
No, that is still Link Alliance’s design
So, Project K’s work doesn’t include fixing up the lower part of the Beresford Square area?
Sureh’s (AT) response: That median won’t be delivered.
So, what is being done?
Suresh: There will be tree pits added back in that area and the road will be resealed.
One key concern in that area is security – what are the specific ways of preventing crime and keeping up with security in that area?
Suresh: We are not currently planning to add any security in that area but that’s a consideration we will take on board.
Is the public toilet, that is situated outside of the station, a paid toilet and is it accessible 24/7?
The toilet outside of the station entrance will be accessible 24/7 and no, it will not be a pay-to-use toilet.
