WHAT’S HAPPENING IN 2020
AOTEA STATION
MAIN WORKS
In April 2020, we’ll start our main works on Albert Street for the Aotea Station. The plans below illustrate the indicative street layout and worksites for the different stages of construction. We’re sharing these with you now because we are committed to open and honest communication, and to give business owners early information to help plan ahead. These staging graphics are subject to change and are only indicative, as we are still working on our construction methodology. We’ll keep you updated as we progress, so be sure to sign up for the email newsletter to stay informed. We will do all we can to minimise disruption during construction but acknowledge that a project as big and as complex as CRL presents many challenges that will impact on life in the city centre for some time. If you would like to speak with us further about these staging plans, please contact us on aotea@linkalliance.co.nz or call 0800 CRL TALK and choose option 3.

• Preparing management plans that outline how we’ll mitigate and manage the effects of construction, for approval by Auckland Council. This involves consulting affected parties about social impacts and business disruption, so we can develop our construction methodology to minimise the impacts where possible

Early works: September 2019 – March 2020
From Mayoral Drive to just north of Victoria Street, we’ll construct the tunnel using a top-down construction method. This involves installing the side walls (piles or d-wall), then the roof structure. This allows us to re-open

parts of the road earlier, while construction continues underneath. The top-down construction method encloses some of the disruption and effects such as noise and dust, on nearby businesses and residents.
There will be some openings in the roof for access across the worksites. This is different to the method adopted for Albert Street between Wyndham and Customs, where the site remains open after excavation.
