These services will be moved out of the station footprint and away from underground supporting structures. We appreciate this work can be noisy and disruptive and so have divided it into three stages to break up and reduce the impacts on the community. The alliance is also developing management plans with the local Community Liaison Group to minimise these impacts as much as we can.
STAGE 1
STAGE 1
DURHAM ST W
The 15 metres between the road surface and the underground roof of the station is insufficient space in which to run all of the underground services. Some of the services also clash with the aliginment of piles that will support the station structure.

WHAT TO
EXPECT • Property access will be maintained. To minimise disruption we will liaise with you about the timing of works directly outside your premises. • Pedestrians may be re-routed around works on the footpath. • Wherever possible, we will use water-filled barriers and low-level fencing to maintain visibility for businesses
