Working with the community at Mt Eden

WORKING WITH THE

LOCAL COMMUNITY We’ve established dedicated communication channels to share project updates and important information with the local community. We’ll also communicate more widely to promote that our local businesses are open and communicate changes to road layouts and pedestrian routes so people can get around easily. We’re conscious that we’re moving into a neighbourhood with a mix of both business and residential properties and we’ll be working to keep the public spaces around our construction sites clean, safe, pleasant and well-lit. We’ll be erecting protective barriers (or hoardings) around work sites. Hoardings can be used for both aesthetic purposes and information purposes and, depending on site-specific factors, different materials can be used. Our hoardings will be used to communicate information about the CRL project and build some excitement about the fantastic new station we’re building in

Mt Eden and the opportunity for redevelopment of the area once we’re finished. Hoardings can also provide neighbourhood wayfinding, directing people where to go to access local businesses and services. We’ll be seeking feedback from locals, our Mt Eden Community Liaison Group and the Uptown Business Association on their designs. We’ll also be looking for opportunities to introduce fun and interesting local events and activations, as well as initiatives that help support local businesses through the construction period. As a neighbouring business or resident, expect to hear from us through: • Construction updates

THE

MT EDEN COMMUNITY LIAISON GROUP In 2015, City Rail Link established the Mt Eden Community Liaison Group (CLG) to enable interested members of the community to engage directly with the project. Group membership represents a cross-section of the community, including residents, property owners, businesses and interest groups. The group meets once every three months with the purpose of: • receiving and discussing information on what’s happening in their area during construction • monitoring and giving feedback on the effects of construction on their community • providing input into the preparation of a variety of management plans that outline how the Link Alliance will manage the impacts of construction on people and the environment. If you are interested in applying for a position on the Mt Eden CLG, please submit an online form via CRL’s website at www.cityraillink.co.nz/clg-application-form
