Struggling with this sudden loss, she decides to pursue his lifelong dream and journey to the North Pole. Following the route he planned and the advice of the great explorers before her, Rory packs a rucksack and her father’s ashes for a journey of love, loss, and endless snow. The production will be directed by three-time Barrymore Award-nominated director and Inis Nua Associate Director and Literary Manager Claire Moyer. Previews begin Wednesday, February 5, with opening night on Friday, February 7. The show runs through February 23, 2020 for a total of 15 performances. All performances will take place at the Louis Bluver Theatre at the Drake, 302 South Hicks Street. Tickets are $15 - $35. For reservations, visit https://inisnuatheatre.org. Michael Billington of The Guardian called A Hundred Words for Snow “an extraordinary story of a young girl’s determination to scatter her father’s ashes at the North Pole” and The Stage called the play “an ice-bound odyssey brimming with humor and humanity.” The website www.ayoungertheatre.com which seeks to encourage younger audiences said, “A Hundred Words for Snow leaves you inspired to embrace the adventure that is life, take the bad with the good and go with the flow… (but not too much!)” A Hundred Words for Snow won the 2017 Heretic Voices Monologue Competition. The play went on to be produced by Heretic Voices at the Arcola Theatre, toured the UK, and transferred to Trafalgar Studios in London where it received four Offie nominations (The Off West Wend Theatre Awards) including Best New Play and Most Promising New Playwright. Local composer/lyricist Dani Tapper presents a free staged reading of her new musical “Brilliant” on February 10 at 7 p.m. at 118 North in Wayne. ocal composer/lyricist Dani Tapper will present a staged reading of her new musical, Brilliant, on February 10 at 7 p.m. at 118 North in Wayne. Attendees will get a taste of what it takes to develop a new musical. “It’s been four years already since I began working on this project,” says the busy mother of three. “Typically, the average time it takes to fully develop a musical seven years, so we’re getting close and we are making progress.” Brilliant embodies the range of emotions a family experiences as they realize that their beloved son is atypical. Told through the eyes of the mother, the family includes her husband, a father unsure how to help his son, and a daughter on a path toward independence. More than anything, Brilliant shines light on the relationship between mother and father

300+ Unique Events and Performances Across the Region February 6-16 heatre Philadelphia announces the return of Philly Theatre Week with 75+ organizations, and 300 events and performances between Februar y 6 to 16, 2020. This 3rd annual 10-day celebration will showcase the vibrant and diverse theatre scene in the tri-state region, and help make theatre even more accessible to the community. Events will include full performances, workshops, panels and more in Philadelphia and suburbs, plus in New Jersey and Delaware. All tickets for participating shows are free, $15 or $30.
