Tri-County Concerts Association Emerging Artists Series presents a concert by Philadelphia violist Hannah Rose Nicholas on Sunday, April 28, at 3 p.m. at Rosemont College. ery Avenue, Rosemont, PA. Ms. Nicholas will perform works by Vaughan Williams, Gershwin, Telemann, Schumann, Bartók, and Hindemith with pianist Benjamin Laude. Meet the artists at a complimentary post-concert reception. Hannah Rose Nicholas has performed with the San Francisco Symphony, Colorado Symphony, Central City Opera Orchestra (Principal), New World Symphony (Co-Principal, 201417), and Philadelphia Orchestra. Her orchestral solo at a Carnegie Hall concert was called “exceptional” by the New York Classical Review. She has given solo performances at the Lucerne Festival Academy, Kennedy Center, and New World Symphony, where she was praised for her “rich tonal sonority” by the South Florida Classical Review. She is the Principal Violist of the Pennsylvania Ballet and a member of the Princeton Symphony Orchestra. Recent chamber music highlights include performances with members of the Manhattan Chamber Players, composer and violist Lev Zhurbin at Lincoln Center, Sam Kelder as part of the viola duo Shizuka, and the Barnes Ensemble and members of JACK Quartet in Philadelphia. For three seasons, Ms. Nicholas was a featured artist with the O, Miami Poetry Festival, putting on multimedia concerts with poets and visual artists. Narberth Community Theatre presents Neil Simon’s “California Suite” at the Overbrook Presbyterian Church located at 6376 City Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19151. The show runs May 3 through May 11, with Friday and Saturday performances beginning at 8 p.m. and Sunday performances beginning at 3 p.m. arberth Community Theatre will close its 2018-2019 season with a five-show run of “California Suite,” a humorous confection of the misadventures of four groups of guests, by Neil Simon. Directed by Erin Guard, “California Suite” opens on Friday, May 3, at the Overbrook Presbyterian Church located at 6376 City Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19151. The show runs May 3 through May 11, with Friday and Saturday performances beginning at 8 p.m. and Sunday performances beginning at 3 p.m. Ticket prices range from $16 $19 and can be purchased online at www.narberthcommunitytheatre.org.
