Music lovers can choose “Singers and Crooners, Their Music and Life Stories” with versatile musician Tom Tolnay, whose performance is complemented with playing the piano, flute and saxophone. There are two diverse courses for the history buff: “Landmark Trials in Jewish History” with Dr. Claire Hirschfield and “The Secret Illnesses of World Leaders and the Effect on History” with Dr. Allan Schwartz. Film aficionados will relish “The Life and Films of Alfred Hitchcock.” In this year of global crisis and political controversy, “World Affairs” covers the pressing issues with instructors Susan Myers and Dr. William Rosenberg. A classical music concert at the Kimmel Center featuring famed conductor Yannick NezetSeguin of the Philadelphia Orchestra is slated for November 11. On October 27, visit the Historical Society of Pennsylvania along with the Masonic Temple, Library and Museum. The Art Center will host a free artist talk and reception on Friday, September 16 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. ners will present over 50 physical and virtual exhibitions, lectures, film screenings, portfolio reviews, and special events. Panorama 2016 is also part of DesignPhiladelphia. The focal point of Panorama 2016, “Enlightened Earth,” will be on view at Main Line Art Center September 10 through November 5, and features works by Mark Dorf (New York), Julianna Foster (Philadelphia) and Nick Pedersen (Burlington, NJ), curated by Amie Potsic, Executive Director of Main Line Art Center. Motivated by environmentalism, fascination with photography’s subjectivity, and the dominance of our digital domain, these artists investigate the delicate imbalance of nature, technology, and humanity through photography and digital media.
