Strategic Theme 7: Accessibility & Support:

Ensure buildings and services are accessible to and support the health and wellbeing of learners and staff. (NCD Investors in Diversity Destinations 1 & 4).

Key Achievements (Examples):

• UCG completed both website and building disability access audits which delivered a range of improvements for UCG, via specific action plans which ensured that we met our legal responsibilities on Disability access.

• A SEND Consultant reviewed the ALS process and as a result of this, ALS process for exam arrangement has been harmonised across the Group.

• Students with Additional Learning Support requirements were given more support in year from enrolment through to exams. Further training for some teachers has enabled improvement in disability inclusive teaching practice leading to very positive outcomes for students.

• Individual support Plans have been implemented and uploaded to ProMonitor for EHCP students with Dyslexia and Learning difficulties. This has improved tutor and Learning Support understanding of each learner’s individual needs.
