This is summary of the complete report for the project Okuplaza Fest DC.
Okuplaza Fest Dc is a creative placemaking intervention designed by Ciudad Emergente for the DC Office of Planning supported by America Solidaria and Hola Cultura. Okuplaza DC Fest seeks to invite the Adams Morgan neighborhood residents to cross the street and share in the public space to discuss the ongoing changes that are present in the neighborhood. This project is possible thanks to "Crossing the Street" grant funded by the Kresge Foundation.
In creative terms, the short-term action consist on transforming a public space known as Unity Park through a temporary installation of dozens of hammocks inviting the community to relax and get to know each other in an atmosphere full of music, arts and games.
