Celebrates the Class of 2018

MESSAGE FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT Dear Families,

As we approach another graduation season, I am reminded of the many students I have met and the enthusiasm and drive I see in their eyes. Every time I have the opportunity to meet with young people in our schools, I am confident and assured that they will rise to meet the challenges they will face after leaving the halls of their high schools. I am fully confident that they not only have the knowledge and education that will enable them to continue their studies or pursue a career, but that they evidence the character, leadership, commitment, and dedication that is necessary to continue to move our community forward. Our students’ accomplishments speak volumes to their dedication to success. The GCS graduation rate has reached an all-time high of 87.3 percent. Our scores exceed the national average on the SAT. We are also preparing career-ready graduates with the awarding of more than 600 industry certifications.

INSIDE… • Class of 2018 Valedictorians • 2017-18 Progress Report • 2018 Graduation Schedule • School Board of Trustees

One thing is certain. The more I am around our young people, the more I see in them the desire to make our community and our world a much better place. Their accomplishments, including earning high GPAs, garnering career certifications, and showcasing success in athletics and extracurricular activities, clearly indicate they are already realizing their potential. I commend the Class of 2018 on what they have accomplished and what they will do in the coming years. Whatever path they choose, I know it will be one that will benefit them, their families, and our community. Sincerely,

W. Burke Royster, Ph.D. Superintendent, Greenville County Schools
